I upgraded to the new Compuhost, and at my first gig the filler player started playing two songs at once. Discouraged, I used a media player for the rest of the night with manual cross-fades (ON A MOUSE!), boy was I tinkled. After screwing around when I got home, (and losing 49 credits when I re-installed compuhost DOH!, it's alright, I can spend that much money in 20 minutes at the strip club) I found a work around. Invicion said they're well aware of the problem and working on it, in the meantime... I did this at my show tonight and it didn't fail: I start off the filler music with the option set to NO on "pause filler music after fadeout". Then, during that song, I switch it to "Launch new filler song after each karaoke performance". It plays out, and keeps counting down in silence while the next singer goes, then, both songs get the green light so to speak, then one turns red, and the other yellow. After that I was golden for the rest of the show. The only downside I saw was that I lose the first six seconds or so of each filler song. Apparently this is only a problem if you regularly use the different song each time feature. I like to use it because when it's busy, I have a bunch of short throw-back songs like the ducktales theme, saved by the bell, punky brewster, & Lavern & Shirley on there that people really get a kick out of, but they aren't dance songs that really get people going or bummed out when I cut them short because I need to get singers through fast. The filler music feature has always irked me, because if I mess with it too much at a show, compuhost crashes. We'll see if this has been remedied. One change I do like, is that it seems the fadeouts are defaulted to run right up to the karaoke song, thus mitigating the dreaded dead air. My compuhost seem pretty stable and I can runt the filler music feature so far without any problems. Dunno???

Had my first real problem with the KJMP product tonight. Not with the hardware, but with the Chartbuster server. Went to buy credits and the shopping cart module isn't being loaded on the product page (so no way to order). Then went into Compuhost to manage KJMP credits and cannot log into the CB server to access the "bank".
Would be a big time issue if I had a show this evening.
8/11 Update: Chartbuster web site is functional for purchasing KJMP credits. Still unable to login from CompuHost to manage credits (several communications with CH support that they have notified Chartbuster of the problem and a phone call from me...thus far no joy).

There was a server issue with Chartbuster regarding the "bank" for Compuhost ans it has been resolved as of Thursday afternoon. All good now!

The only way they will improve their site is if you let them know what you don't like about it. They will always welcome feedback. Now that I use the KJ Drive, the only time I go to their site is to purchasc more credits and i have that location on a shortcut anyway.

CB is aware of issues with their site (not the least of which is page bloat on the home page). Changes are in the works.

Trying to order credits and can't. Apparently the problem hasn't been fixed. Good thing I didn't print my new books with the CB catalog in them yet. Having second thoughts about ordering another drive for my soon-to-be second rig. I hope you're reading this CB!!!!

Trying to order new credits from the website, and trying to withdraw credits from your bank within Compuhost are two very different operational problems. I am able to connect/download releases/withdraw credits from within Compuhost just fine now.

Has anybody loaded CB Cdg's or SD cards after loading MP into CH. i'm just wondering how it reacts to new material being loaded. I'm still waiting for some of my SD's to come in. Will work just like adding any new tracks. New tracks are loaded to your performance drive, you import the tracks in CompuHost and tracks that are duped will show one locked (from KJMP) and another that is not locked (that is resident on your performance drive).

I've got a question about this Pro HD!
If you buy a song and unlock it then copy it to you show hard drive aren't you in fact having 2 copies of a (in some cases) downloaded song?
When you hook up to CB and they send you updates you are receiving DOWNLOADED songs so how is this any different than using DOWNLOADS from their site which they say you CAN NOT use in a show.
Why the double standard.
Oh yea you are paying DOUBLE maybe TRIPLE for the hard drive because you can buy a 1TB HD for about $60.
What happens if this HD dies after the 90 day warranty? How do you get the product as it's this drive that has to connect to CB for updates do you just shell out another $200 for another hard drive? OH yea and then this:
Chartbuster Karaoke is not responsible for unlocked content stored on this device and cannot replace any data or content lost.
If you don't copy it to another hard drive you've lost EVERYTHING in case of a crash. I'm just not sold yet.

The song on the KJMP drive are locked. So unlocking one does not give you two copies...you have one useable copy. As for the cost of the product, for the $200 you get the drive as well as 50 song credits ($75 value at $1.50 per song). The rest of the cost, I just consider to be a subscription fee.

But if you copy it to another drive you have 2 copies. Someone would have to be VERY trusting to use the KJMP drive as a show drive with NO BACKUPS. Still waiting for answers on other questions.

Don't you have a backup of your play drive now as well as some sort of fall back in case your PC goes down? Wouldn't you think a backup of the KJMP drive would also be logical? Difference between the KJMP drive and any other "source" is that the files on it are locked and they are all tied to your account. And the unlocked CB files on the play drive (and a backup if made) all have your unique number embedded in them. As good as it currently gets for traceability.

They state on the faqs for the drive that you are allowed a backup copy.

Lone Wolf wrote: If you buy a song and unlock it then copy it to you show hard drive aren't you in fact having 2 copies of a (in some cases) downloaded song? You're incorrectly assuming that the unlocked songs remain on the KJMP drive. That is NOT the case. During configuration you're given the opportunity to designate the drive/folder location you wish your new unlocked songs to be placed in. It's possible to designate a folder on the KJMP drive, but they highly recommend against it. I have them unlocked to my C drive, in a subfolder of the same folder I have my existing files stored in. Lone Wolf wrote: When you hook up to CB and they send you updates you are receiving DOWNLOADED songs so how is this any different than using DOWNLOADS from their site which they say you CAN NOT use in a show. Technically they're NOT "downloaded songs". Try to play a locked file on the KJMP drive and see how far you get. You're comparing apples to oranges. Lone Wolf wrote: What happens if this HD dies after the 90 day warranty? How do you get the product as it's this drive that has to connect to CB for updates do you just shell out another $200 for another hard drive? No, they offer replacement drives to existing users on their website for $100. They come preloaded with the then current selections. EDIT: I just checked to verify the replacement drives are still listed on their website. I can't find the link but I'm sure they still offer them to existing users. You may want to contact them and verify they're still available. Lone Wolf wrote: OH yea and then this: Chartbuster Karaoke is not responsible for unlocked content stored on this device and cannot replace any data or content lost. Again, you're incorrectly assuming the unlocked songs MUST reside on the KJMP drive. WRONG! They (Chartbuster) cannot/should not be responsible for YOUR songs, therefore they highly recommend that you unlock the songs to another drive, AND make a backup for archival purposes You may want to refer to THEIR own warranty information here: http://www.chartbusterkaraoke.com/return-policyLone Wolf wrote: I'm just not sold yet.
