You may be right.... but not directed at the general posters here... that was reserved for only a choice few.... which shall remain nameless... But you also have to admit..... I've done a pretty decent job providing a substantiated foundation for a majority of the statements I put out there and many times at my own expense... So, it's difficult to determine if "being Staley'd" is a bad thing or just a backhanded compliment.....

Lonman wrote: Why would they be out of luck. I thought you could get a replacement disk from CB & SC if you had the original in tact for a s&h? So if they have a disk with the tracks send them the ripped version with the cust id. They do not offer replacements on OOP discs. If a disc is found to be scratched that they do have in stock they could either send it back stating you would need to return it through regular return/exchange policies or they can email you and give you the option to replace if it is still available.[/quote] Are tracks from OOP disks available? SC8125 can be had as a custom disk. If it's a #'s thing in they paid for x number of tracks I'd think some sort of an agreement could be made with the IP owner to approve a 1 to 1 replacement, but maybe not.

I'm just telling you their replacement policy. If it is out of print, then they wouldn't have to go any further. If you wanted to repurchase that disc as a custom, that would be different. But again, no use to argue this point as it will never see the light of day.

I wasn't trying to argue I was just trying to discuss possible options of making an idea work. Not to long ago some would have said the same thing in regards to CB's KJ Media Pro HD.

True. Just curious does the HDMP have all the tracks that were supposedly recalled due to licensing issues?

It was discussed on one of the threads here, and if I remember correctly those tracks weren't available on the HDMP. The difference I see between CB and SC even though there are OOP disks some possibly all of those tracks are available in a custom. Maybe SC moving to the UK opened up an opportunity that CB doesn't currently have?

CB has pulled (or omitted) many tracks on the KJMP previously released as CD+G. Some that are fairly recent (Pretty Good At Drinking Beer by Billy Currington is one that comes to mind).

HA! Someone requested that song last Saturday night. Don't have it. I'm ruined. It was available on: CB6+20673 CBP60445 CBP60446 All Star also produced it on ASH0828 Does anyone have an extra original they'd like to sell?

Yes, but I already found it for less on eBay with free shipping.
Funny, the All Star CD+G is over $31 on eBay, but only 13.99 at KaraokeWarehouse.com

Actually, I'm the one who does that, in hopes that if someone actually does the work, then they would have no reason to argue. Chip posts links to back up his statements all over the place.

And i just happened to e-mail Stellar Music last month, asking if they were going to release that song on one of their discs. They responded back that they wanted to, but were having problems with that one.

Why then would someone want to run legal? Just payoff SC when you get caught! SC could atleast post the pirates pictures and identify them on their website!

SC could atleast post the pirates pictures and identify them on their website! Because it costs over twice as much to do it that way? Not really. Twice as much as buying the gem before you get caught? Maybe. Twice as much as buying the discs for years and operating legally? No where near - much much less. Twice as much as never getting caught? Not at all - much much more. Considering these persecutions are only occuring in a very few areas that are friendly to lawsuit businesses, and most of the rest of the country is free to do whatever they like, it seems like a very safe gamble to operate as a pirate until getting caught. Twice as much as nothing is nothing. Four thousand dollars that is not spent on music early on in a new KJ operation can go a long way toward building that business up to a point where the shell-out of eight grand in hush money later won't hurt nearly as much as wasting four grand in the onset. It's a gamble worth taking even in areas that are target focal points of these lawsuits. If one builds a successful KJ business with free stolen music, getting named, shelling out eight grand, then being declared legit and allowed to boast his legit status to compete with those who have always been legit can actually be a boost to his business and his status in that business. Being sued by Soundchoice is possibly the second best thing that can happen to a successful pirate.
