480 Elvis songs? No thanks! I have somewhere around 100 and maybe 12 or 15 have been sung. Unless for your own personal collection or you totally like to sing Elvis or you are an impersonator, what's the point?

To each his/her own. I probably overquoted my Elvis sung songs by half.

I own an original set that hubby purchased way back when Music Maestro was still in production, early 90's I believe, and they are now out of print. There are songs on those discs that you just can't get anywhere else, and for those that wonder if they will ever get sung, I was of the same opinion until late last year. I mean, really, how many Elvis songs does one really need? So I never bothered to rip them or put them in my books and the discs collected dust for several years, but one day I just decided to bite the bullet and go for it. I was very surprised. The first week, I had several songs from that set requested and it's been relatively steady since. Having said that, the seller has more than 10 sets available and the manufacturer of the discs is now defunct and has been for quite some time. I wonder what the likelihood is that they are originals and not burned copies? I would guess pretty slim....

I get maybe 1 or 2 Elvis songs done a month. Not a big Elvis crowd.

I know most (about 90%) of the songs on the list of 480, though I don’t know the lyrics to all of them. My hope is that they are quality karaoke.

Alot of those songs are exclusive and not produced anywhere else, so those are the greatest version ever produced on karaoke! Sorry, I do not care for the high majority of MM (yes they do have their gems as any manu) - even the DooWop and Elvis tracks people rave about, I don't hear the hype on at least the tracks i've heard in the past.

Not raving fantastic, but certainly nothing to turn your nose up at either. As Lon, said and as I said previously, there are a lot of songs on there that you simply will not be able to get anywhere else.

Not raving fantastic, but certainly nothing to turn your nose up at either. As Lon, said and as I said previously, there are a lot of songs on there that you simply will not be able to get anywhere else. I think I'll buy the Velvet Elvis package. The songs are fair reproductions and since many cannot be found anywhere else, there is an incentive. I found many of them on YouTube, which are not HD quality. So I'm hoping what I hear on YouTube will sound better on disk. I found elviskaraoke.com, which will transfer to kingtracks.com, which claims that its tracks are endorsed by Elvis' musicians. Well, I listened to several examples and must say those I heard are nothing special. And actually, I listened to several downright terrible tracks, which cost $12 (karaoke) and $14 (mp3) each. The Wonder of You is good (sounds similar, if not the same as Music Maestro's version) from what I heard, but Teddy Bear is off key on the opening (only 15 seconds of sample time). So kingtracks sells electronic karaoke and promotes them off of Elvis' musicians endorsement as a means to charge premium prices. Ridiculous! If they want premium prices then Elvis' musicians need to setup and start recording.

Music Maestro (IMO) was always 50-50 "hit" or "miss." So, for a set of 480 songs at the price of $80, I'd say you're getting yourself a good deal (even if half of the songs are a "miss"). I hope you are very happy with this purchase. Now, here is a set that I have from Pocket Songs. It contains 110 songs from Elvis (of which, I'm sure the MM set you just purchased probably covers all of them). http://www.pocketsongs.com/product_info ... s_id=10417 When I bought them, it didn't cost me the $99 that PS's website is retailing it for. I think I paid something like $50 for them (at the local Karaoke store where I make most of my purchases). You might want to consider having this set as well (regardless of it being repeats of what you just bought).

Not the Velvet Elvis, but if anyone has a factory original MM6070 Elvis, I will be happy to take it off their hands...

I also did a bit of Internet searching and came across Karaoke Industry Alliance of America. http://www.thekiaa.org/anti-piracy/iden ... ducts.htmlI'll just hope for the best and see what I get in the mail. If anyone is interested in seeing color pics of one or more of the disks, I would be happy to post some.
