Ok. Not my best one.

Obviously, you thought the "Bunny Ranch" would be staffed by females didn't you?

(Oh yeah, I can hear you now; "But they looked like they were females!")

Glad I wasn't drinking when I looked at that - there would have been stuff shooting out of my nose. Enjoy your sense of humor or is it Lizard Leopard I should be congratulating? Great pic!

If we can get him out of here in time, we hope to make it to the Gong Show Karaoke at the Silver Legacy in Reno tonight. He really shouldn't have caused that disturbance at the Ranch.

We did take him to a Brew Pub near Tahoe where he tried 6 of the beers and still pronounced them inferior to Newcastle Brown Ale. But at least we made the attempt.

Phew that was a close one.
Lep got me out on grounds of diminished responsibility.
Reno tonight.

What?

The "Worst of America" Tour continues as people try to assure Jerry that most Americans have hot water and electricity and eat with utensils. We took him to Tahoe to show him that there are also spots in the country with paved roads.

Last night we checked out a Gong Show karaoke that people had been recommending. The singers were basically props for the host who was a local radio/TV personality. There was alot of banter and joking going on between songs but he kept everyone involved and entertained. It was announced ahead of time that the show was not for serious karaoke singers which meant that you would only get in one song and it might be cut short by the gong. But there wasn't too much gonging going on and the host reserved the right to over rule it.

It was obviously aimed at a youth audience and metal to boot as anyone who sang country got inbred and banjo jokes made about them and the boyfriend and I both got comments on our age. I believe he said that I was like if Pink had been to Woodstock and the boyfriend looked like a Dad from an ancient sitcom. But oddly enough, I didn't get gonged when I had fully expected to just grab my flashlight consolation prize and leave. One older man who sang AC/DC was worshipped so it wasn't totally age-ist.

Most singers were good plus good natured. Sound was overly loud and piercing/tinny and my ears are still ringing today. Plus you couldn't hear yourself and sometimes the music didn't become audible until a few seconds into the song. Oh well. The place was absolutely packed and we had a good time. The finalists were mainly sweet young things with assets other than singing, surprising even some of them, but that was what it was all about. The host had an assistant and a guy who took the slips and put up the songs and did sound so the host basically just manned the announcing mic. He also got to take breaks and it was just a 3 hour show but bet he gets paid the big bucks. No equipment carry in/out, either.

Afterward we stopped for another photo op. It's a bit of a break from mountains and rocks.

We are hoping to make it to a RogerNiner show but trying to keep cars running long enough to get there. So far we have had 2 flat tires and a muffler fall off. But then again, you just need to pick one up off the side of the road, bend a coat hanger to hold it on and off you go. But always a good time out here in Hell Hole Land. I think Jerry has had one marriage proposal and an invite for a psychic reading. He was also intrigued that the photo of the label of Moose Drool Beer has had 200 viewings.

A marriage proposal?.... What was his name? Was his name Brucy?.....
(he always does that to the out-of-towners from what we've heard)

If you find your way to Buena Park, CA, you can turn that thinking around here....

Ok, yesterday Lep took me to Lake Tahoe.
We saw the red salmon spawning, was fascinating.
I saw a couple of signs saying to watch out for bears.
I thought yes, American slang... They are police right...
She was even carrying round food to attract them.

The first full day out here was a bit similar, sort of.
She took me out to a beautiful lake where her dogs were swimming.
On the way back we stopped at an interesting lava formation for me to photograph.
She said watch were you are standing.
We were in the middle of the desert.
I shouted "no worries, no dog poo round here".
Anyway I am having a tour that money could not possibly buy.

Oh I saw and I thought of JR. I photographed it.
So this one is for you mate.

We haven't let him hear the end of it because he had a hamburger and proceeded to cut it up and eat it with a knife and fork...an upside down, fork.

And it wasn't dog poo he should watch for----rattlesnakes. And bears. And psychics. He did get to hear coyotes howl the other night. Then we left the Hell Hole and came home.

That would be a blast but unfortunately it would require too many coat hanger replacements on the muffler. And don't they drive faster than 35 mph? I was born there but it's been a while.

Lep's boyfriend goes faster,
but that is usually round cliff hanging hairpins just to see if I turn white.
Ok, so far...
I have seen most of the confederate army.
Have survived the rattle snakes.
Have not been eaten by a bear and have not sky dived.

Lep is not giving up though.
At the moment she is trying to find me an earth quake.

Gosh I am so lucky.
You guys could not buy this trip.

Hmmm..
Bordellos, prisons, bears, snakes, bad beer, strange accents, lost mufflers and coat hangers...

You're right.... we couldn't buy this trip.... would we want to?
