So it looks as though they are dropping their tracks again this time from 12 per disc to 8 - yet keeping the price the same. Looks like i'm moving over to PHM for new releases. At least it's 9 songs.

Maybe they're trying to make the KJMP HD more appealing, so they can cut out the cost of disk production.

If they made it available to more than just Compuhost, it would be more appealing. But they are going to lose more than gain with cutting the amount of new songs each month. I could live with 12 from 15 for the same price, but that was pushing it.

I just finished ripping about 150 CB Hot Hit Country Chartbusters that were technically 12 tracks but 1/2 are with vocals. Fortunately for me I didn't pay anywhere near full price for them.

Glad I have the Media Pro. Before I got that, I was getting my updates from PHM, lot of fluff songs I was never going to use most likely. Before the Media Pro, I was contemplating getting my updates from CB instead so it worked out.

Don't know if that's the case or not, but if so, they'd do better to try make that same negotiation with all the major hosting manus. I know i'd buy it.

the only downside i can see, is that each new content provider would probably raise the cost of the drive. Plus u would have to come up with a standardized price, otherwise how would u use a credit system when the average cost of a zoom track is 2.99 *as an example* and chartbuster is 1.99

Looks like I'll be switching from CB ( who I think is tops for country) to Karaoke Kurrents label All Country Hits. May not be as good as CB, but pretty dam good, and 16 tracks per disc.
I'm running a business, so I have to do what I have to do.

They request all brands, but tend to migrate toward SC first if it's available.

There's also two brands called All Star Karaoke and Fastrax Karaoke that have been putting out the New Country stuff.

I like All Star karaoke pretty well -- I wouldn't quite put it in the same league with Chartbusters, but it's generally usable. When you consider the price and how many tracks you get I CAN see the appeal.

I can confirm that Compuhost is the developer of the software and CB is just the content provider as stated above. You can always run Compuhost to unlock the song then run the song in your software of choice. I have had direct conversations with SC suggesting them to provide their content to the HD as well. Even if the cost were to increase having both SC and CB content would still make the HD a sweet deal.

IF (big IF) other manus jumped on board, I may reconsider and wouldn't mind spending more for the hard drive initially.

The cost of the progran @ $179 is cheap when you consider that when you get the discs @ an average cost of $15 each to get the 1 song you want and the rest is just fluff. Even if you choose to run another hosting program, the program pretty much pays for itself in a very short term. CB has made a choice to make their library available like we have all wished (being able to buy just the songs we really want, one song at a time) and yet people object to buying the unlock program to be able to play the song in any hosting program we wish, am I missing something?

I don't object, for me i'm just saything that invicion would make MORE money if they offered it as a stand-alone program as well.
Think about it, you could pay a small fee like $40 to activate the software and then they could charge a small yearly/monthly supscription fee for the updates, like they do with their karoke book software.
they would make a heck of a lot more money in the long run, because it would be an option for those who don't want to spend the money on compuhost.
