CANANDAIGUA, N.Y. -- A 42-year-old man has been convicted of punching a 79-year-old man into a plate glass window after complaining about the older man's karaoke singing at a western New York bar.

The Ontario County District Attorney's Office says a jury Thursday convicted Paul Collen of the town of Naples of second-degree assault.

Prosecutors say Collen was at the bar at the Naples Hotel last March when he punched the 79-year-old man in the face, breaking his nose and facial bones. Authorities say the punch sent the man's head through a plate glass window.

The assault occurred during one of the bar's weekly karaoke nights. Officials say Collen complained about the man's singing, then began punching him before several patrons stepped in to stop the assault.

He faces up to seven years in prison when he's sentenced Oct. 26.

Make sure it consists of all the horrendously tone-deaf Karaoke Singers that you can find.

People taking karaoke too seriously wind me up, but this is ridiculous. I say throw the key away, but I do like the idea of piped karaoke music played in his cell constantly. Perhaps a recording of his victim singing the same song over and over?

Good grief, you got to be a special kind of A-hole to do something like that. Maybe the old boy could send the jerks cellmate a few Viagra tablets and a special recording of "Closer" for inspiration...

Watched this last weekend, the guy is a Youtube celebrity now. Quite the story teller, no saint but funny as heck! Kinda reminds me of Johnny Reverb!
