I see here posts from folks using a lot of batteries for their mics and are avoiding rechargeable ones, just as I have for the past 20 years or so, since they have been so disappointing in their performance. I was researching something totally unrelated tonight and ran across this amazing endorsement from a reviewer that had given what seemed like a paid bad review on a product so I looked at their history and found this.

Looks like the technology on rechargeable batteries may have gotten better since I tried using them.

I don't worry about rechargeable batteries. My mics (AKG) use a single AA battery and lasts for 35 hours. I can buy 48 of them at Costco for $14.00 That's 1680 hours or 336 5-hour shows.

Yep, that the ones....

Great Sound

Great noise cancelling

Built like a tank...

I have a couple Shure wireless that uses 9-volt batteries (I rarely ever use) and it eats these $3.50 batteries like potato chips... Lucky if I get 12 hours out of one....

I use the VocoPro 5805 UHF 4 mic system. Wireless - couple hundred feet range. I charge them up each week and it is good for at least 2 nights of singing. I've had them for over 2 years and no problems with them ever. I have used other wireless mics and they were eating the batteries. Now I don't ever have worry about them working! Well worth the investment. And the people love the sound. Of course I keep a couple of wired mics at the ready.
