(Not sure if this is posted in the right section.)

I am looking into possibly insuring my equipment, but I have no idea where to start and where to look. After doing a quick online search, most of the companies that insure DJ equipment are entertainers associations who require me to be a paid member.

How much should I expect to spend on insurance for my equipment? (valued around ~$2,000) What companies would you recommend?

Good luck. I can only get liability insurance. No other company will insure my equipment. I can't even get a rider policy on my homeowners equipment to insure my equipment while it is stored in my garage (because homeowners insurance will not cover anything used in a business).

Believe it or not, what you want is called "Inland Marine Insurance".

Despite the odd name, it covers the cost of your damaged or stolen gear whether from a bar or your vehicle (provided there are signs of forced entry, the vehicle was locked and there is an alarm on the vehicle).

Many various DJ and entertainment organizations have deals set up for such insurance. You become a member, then you can get in on the group deal.

Holy Crud Bazza! This must be the what? Third time we've agreed on something?

We gotta stop this... people are gonna talk....

Quick, I better do something to fix this situation:
No Bazza, you didn't "buy" anything.... you "leased a bunch of OLD songs!"

(Whew!, now I feel better.... how about you?)

I like to think of it as "preserving monumental statements relative to the industry and sharing pertinent facts." All for your benefit of course...

#1. I spend MY money to deliver the (pacer) FACTS to you....

#2. I gave away a bunch of posters that took hours to create. (which you even claimed were good enough to pay for)

#3. I gave away FREE songbook software

#4. I even argued with Thunder, InsaneKJ and WallOfSound just so you'd have something to pile on to....

How much "better" can I be?

Give, give, give.... that's me....

Besides, I CAN'T be the "evil one" because you have the attorney on your side.....
