I'm very new to this, and would like to know what would be a great start in purchasing a karaoke machine with very high quality that I can plug into my stereo amp at home?

Actually, that may not be the best idea..

Home stereo speakers don't live well with vocals..

(I'll move this over to the correct area..)

Even for home use, it's best to use components. You might be able to find a used pair of speakers for your home fairly reasonably. Just make sure you can try them out before layout any cash out. I know it's cheaper to buy a "machine," but you can often put together a small system for only a little more money, and the quality is so much better.

What are you looking to spend?

With the speakers, I'd like to spend about $200. My wife gave me a $100 machine with amp/speaker set up and it sounded horrible, which turned me off for many years. I now find just componets systems available which look great. So I'll go that way with additional speakers just for singing. Or, has anyone have any input with karaoke machines that are complete with amp/pitch/speakers that really do sound good, and what might the cost be?
