Who's the best.
One rule, can't use chartbuster or soundchoice.
I usually don't mind if folks wander off subject off my threads but no chartbuster or soundchoice comments of any kind please, I just wanna know the best of all of the others regardless how each of you feel about CB or SC.

Zoom, hands down....
I would actually argue that Zoom is far better than Chartbuster on everything besides country music, and better on British pop and rock artists than SoundChoice.
Whoever makes Pop Hits Monthly generally does the best job of everyone on Hip-hop and R&B stuff...
Chartbuster does the best on Country.
The old Music Maestro did the best job of everyone on oldies hits.
Soundchoice is only the most consistent across the board, but I don't feel they are particularly the best in any given genre.
The Quick Hits karaoke is probably the best value out there. Typically B/B+ quality, but 1/2 the price of all the other manus, and they usually have the new stuff 3-4 weeks before everyone else.

Pop Hits. That's my one answer. I have always found their overall sound quality to be among the highest. I am rarely dissatisfied with one of their tracks. While I may not always think they are the best -- though I often do -- they are almost never bad.I would have said DK, but they don't have anything newer than 1996...and Pop Hits doesn't have anything older than that. Perhaps that's why those two are the backbone of my collection in some ways. They certainly would be if I didn't have the two unmentionables.

I have only recently started to use SBI tracks from Tricerasoft. I have been VERY impressed. I did an on the spot download last night for "Psychosocial" by Slipknot - another EXCELLENT rendition!

If were talking new release stuff SBI If you are talking about overall without SC or CB then I am split between DK and Pioneer both were the must have core back in the day.

SBI/Sunfly or Zoom (depending on which sound clip 'sounds' better at the moment that I am ready to buy) are my main choices (w/o the other 2). Many of the UK brands use the same music tracks so then it comes down to who's graphics you like better at some points.

Pioneer is good, but all the tracks were recorded at a lower level -- I always have to kick up the volume on the mixer by a very large margin over all the other tracks. And then, of course, you have to remember to turn it back down after the track or "BOOM" you'll be waking up the drunks on the next song. I'm a DK fan for the timespan they produced. PHM is very good for newer tracks. As has been said before, certain manufacturers do better at certain genres. Pocket Songs does great showtunes. Music Maestro did oldies very well, but little else. Top Hits Monthly has the best 90's tracks.

Oh I was under the assumption this was for stuff one could actually buy today. Pioneer is also top on my list for stuff no longer available to purchase.

I used to think that how the music matches the original version along with the synchronization were all that mattered. I have since learned that there is even more to it. For instance, even at the highest bit rate, CB doesn't seem to be nearly as crisp (at 320kps) as SBI is at 192.

As long as it's not on some media like 8 tracks or reel to reel. As I begin to start to pick up speed again on adding to my library. Since SC is dormant and CB doesn't record all songs needed, I want to really keep my eye out. I've personally bought a lot of Pop Hits, I really can't complain about their stuff. I don't have a lot of sunfly but haven't been overly impressed with their stuff. I don't have a lot of zoom but one thing I like about the Zoom songs I do have is the countdown during instrumentals. Wish everyone did that. Whether new or old anything is game as I said since I will be back to buying discs if I have too. I like when I can buy straight from mp3 discs and don't have to rip (bought a lot of phm early last year with this). I like my KJMP that has chartbuster and finally got an update this week (about 60 songs I think) but selection is still limited somewhat.

DK for songs up until they stopped producing.
Zoom ( #1) and SuperCore/Karaoke Kurrents (#2) for new releases.

I meant to say I bought a lot of PHM last year.
I've bought all those, I do like the Karaoke Kurrents, not bad for the price and selection. Supercore is ok, fills some gaps, I have some.

I love Pioneer cdg's as well. I just purchased 78 originals + 10 others, for $40 (includes $15 shipping). It buy it now for $25 and it was only listed for 12 minutes when I bought it.

ditto on the pioneer. one that is picking up a bit of steam too is BKD. buykaraokedownloads.com still a tad bass heavy, but much better than even 2 months ago. i will flip flop between SF and ZM for most stuff right now. SBI, when they hit it, they hit it, when they miss....big whiff. found a few MM gems....ginuwine, pony...who'd a guessed? SF and ZM are the 2 main i have been getting recently. FTX gets new stuff out quickly and fairly well done, their duet coloring needs work though. singking out of canada, almost perfect re-creations of the guess who and other (currently only canadian) artists. Partytyme hits really close on a lot of the rock. i am amazed sometimes the quality i can pick up at walmart or kmart currently. oh, and tropical zone and kbox for my spanish stuff.

I bought a few BKD a couple years ago but then I heard they may not be legit so I quit buying downloads all together. I didn't find them to be all that back then anyway.

In terms of general quality, sing king wins hands down, but they have a very limited selection, I have all 11 discs. altho I have to admit I have had the bob dylan stuff for over 6 years and NOT ONE person has sang it.. if anyone is a big fan of the Guess Who or Gordon lightfoot, the discs from sing king, in my opinion, are a must have. Now for general availability I prefer ZOOM there is only one track i have ever bought from them that I was severely disappointed with and it was one of the first ones they ever produced. after that would be sbi now if you're not adverse to downloads, karaokeversion.com has pretty decent renditions and song that aren't available anywhere else.
