I bought this as a collector's item. I collect a few things, including (hence my name here) Cal Ripken stuff.

I don't but collectors items as an investment even though it is.

Even with digital (legal and/or illegal) copies, I think the disc will always have a great deal of value for the two very publicized reasons, there is only a 1000 or so out there, and that the Eagles squashed it and for many, it is the best versions of their songs.

Nobody can predict with great confidence how much this will be in a year, or two years, or ten years.

Funny you should mention that.

I went to the Consumer Electronics Show in Vegas this year and one of the coolest areas were the ultra high-end audio suites. This was the land of the ultimate audiophile. Speakers from MBL that were $120,000...EACH.

Yes, those gold orbs are speakers.

Handmade tube amps from Vladimir Lamm for $70,000 each, and they are mono so you need two, and they put out a whopping 32 Watts.

There were close to one hundred suites with this kind of stuff. Care to guess how many turntables I saw?

ONE, by Onedof. And it cost $150,000 and weighs 110 pounds.

Everybody else was showing of their Ferrari priced gear with.....wait for it.....iTunes. Yes...iTunes with lossless files (AAC/FLAC/etc).

THAT is what the real Audiophile uses in 2012.

Not in the market for a turntable--mine from the 60s still work.

Wow, love the turntable! I'm a big itunes fan, at least from a standpoint of using it to show my music and artwork and create multiple genres and playlists. It's always open when I DJ. I don't use it to play the music but to reference my genres, playlists, and songs.

OK, I'm all heated up! :D

I would add that if you can find pre-2000 MacIntosh labs products ( before they started buying consumer grade passives- from me- to build their stuff) you just may have an audiophile orgasm.....

I know this is my PET PEEVE here, but really???? twice you folks had to quote an entire passage(to name names --- Ripman8 and JoeChartreuse) and I had to scroll through these pictures two times before I saw what you intended to write. Was the reposting of these images really necessary???

Macintosh had one of the largest suites and had one of the bedrooms setup as a listening room. Also using iTunes to demo.

well sorta getting back to the original topic there is only one single karaoke disc I would pay $200 for and that is the trooper disc from karaokemaker.

Not that it got sang a whole lot, but it would be really nice to have a complete collection, and that is the only disc I didn't get the chance to buy from them.

now even tho they aren't the greatest quality, I would also be willing to pay up to $200 for an original graphic *black background with flames* set of Dangerous discs *i have a counterfit set that i use at home, but I don't bring them to karaoke*. To me they have more nostalgic value than anything else as some of the first songs I ever sang were from this set.

if anyone ever happens to come across either one, let me know.

Jclayton,
Dangerous did change it label numerous times as we found out after snapping quite a number of what we thought we pirated sets. Yours may not be pirated. Feel free to PM or post a pic of the label and I will compare to what we know to be legit. Sorry we dont have a extra set to help you out

Don't lie about hating to be rude... If you really hated to be rude, you would have just said, "Get over it!" without adding the pictures/images a 20th time!

I'll admit that what I just did here was childish, but the way you responded back was just plain vindictive and childish (if not worse). Rather than just being "human" (as you put it), and simply say, "I'm sorry," the added post of those images (again) just shows how CHILDISH you really wanted to be about the whole thing, while making a dig at me!

I guess your tag line says it all about you...

Caught me at a bad moment. Sorry for being a dick. I understand Cue's point, especially if a thread gets really long. I will try my best moving forward to trim my thoughts to a few lines without long recopies.

My pet peeve? the guy behind me at a stop light that tries to swing out to the far line and pass me while I'm legally turn to the near lane, turn my signal on and move over.

This may have been an issue 12+ years ago, but every browser made today has the ability to turn off the downloading of pics if you still fit into the rare dial-up niche.

Just to put a smile on your face, I wanted to tell you that the PC that I use for this forum - Luddite that I am- is on dial-up!
It's a business computer and I feel it's more secure that way. I unplug it after every use. I'm probably wrong, but it makes me feel good anyway...

I have to admit that my "play" computer is on Fios though..... :o

I would like to apologize for not snipping the pics out of my earlier quote. I simply forgot. I have been called out on this before, and will make every attempt to be more diligent in the future.

Actually the reason i know they are counterfeit has nothing to do with the graphic, I had ordered one set and the graphics were all glitched, so i had the person who sold me the set send a replacement, the graphics are still glitched, and in the EXACT same places as before, so as an experiment i thought i would dowload the songs in question of a torrent, and sure enough the exact same graphic errors showed up.
