I think the poster needs to understand that most KJ's that HAVE BOTH use computers primarily - a cd+g player is usually in case a patron brings in a disc of their own.

Yes I understand the reason a dj would bring both.
I for one enjoy singing and often attend karaoke events and yes bring my own disks.
Sorry to say many djs do not offer both.
I was curious to know via the pole the ratio of djs who do offer both

I use Karaoke software that can read a CDG DISC via the CDROM. So, a standalone CDG Player is redundant.

It's very rare that I would use someone's personal disc...no way for a Track from a SC Disc.

Of course, now, I would NEVER use a Singer's personal disc, since someone in another thread, stated that, to do so, would be to give a Singer access to Songs that are not on my system, by default, by me, the KJ, having played them through my Sound System, as if by doing this, it, somehow, breaks a business/corporate vale between either the Singer or the Venue and ME...the KJ. (Keep in mind that a Singer could be a Patron or a person that either owns the Venue or someone who works at the Venue who could be construed as someone who represents the Venue simply by working there.)

Personally, I wouldn't want to give SC more ammunition...so S#REW YOU (YOU meaning plural) if you bring a personal DISC.

the poll was not set properly to record. You may wish to restart. A better way to state your question may be.....
How many hosts have a way to play customers original discs at the shows? with options for yes and no.
This will give you a more accurate answer and not get off into arguments on specific manu's or download/copy issues.
If you wish to have answers on those issues it will differ greatly by host.

Just to state my company's policy as stated on the front page of every song book.

"We are happy to play ANY original manufacture's disc you bring with you however, we will not play any copy, burned disc or downloaded song to remain in compliance with anti-piracy policies"
