I get asked this often, I usually reply I have no favs, I try to do many different ones.

Of course, I have some I do more than others. Not that I'm any good at them but:

Piano Man
Mama Let Him Play
867-5309-Jenny
Lyin' Eyes
Walk This Way (original)
Minnie the Moocher
Longview
Basket Case
American Idiot
Don't Let the Sun Go Down on Me
Mary Jane's Last Dance
Oh Darling
Home Sweet Home (Motley C)
Every Rose has its Thorn
Keep Your Hands To Yourself
Roadhouse Blues
Get a Haircut
Move it on Over
Feel Like Makin' Love (BC)
You May Be Right
Under My Wheels
Whole Lotta Shakin' Goin' On

There's others I've sang more than once but I like to try different songs.

I pretty-much stick with classic country ballads, with a smattering of novelty songs...

Charley Pride's "I Know One"
Merle Haggard "If We Make It Through December"
Mickey Gilley "She's Pulling Me Back Again"
Bobby Bare "Miller's Cave"
Lefty Frizzell "Long Black Veil"
Willie Nelson/Ray Charles "Seven Spanish Angels"
Waylon Jennings "Wrong!"
Coasters "Searchin"
Hollywood Argyles "Alley Oop"
Jimmy Reed "Big Boss Man"
Jerry Lee Lewis "What Made Milwaukee Famous"
Freddie Hart "Easy Lovin" (when I feel brave)
etc.

I'm like Ripman,,, I try to do various types of songs, not one particular style or genre,, I sort of choose them according to the crowd I am singing to. In my list (history) I have sung about 385 different songs, some more than others of course, some only attempted once. But with that said,, some of my best and most fun to sing are:

Bad To The Bone
Mustang Sally
Can't Get Enough Of Your Love (Barry White)
Mountain Music
Turn The Page (Bob Seger)
Mandy (Barry Manilow,, and yes,, I have fun with it,, "insert name here___)
What A Wonderful World (this one is a voice killer)
Wind of Change
anything by Neil Diamond
almost anything by John Denver
Come Sail Away (Styx)
Please Come to Boston
Bad Moon Rising
Proud Mary (CCR)
Tequila Sunrise
Two Out Of Three Ain't Bad
After The Lovin' (Englebert Humperdinck)
King Of The Road
All I Have (Mat Kearney)
At This Moment (Billy Vera)
Wonderful Tonight
Kiss You All Over (Exile)
Beds Are Burning (Midnight Oil)

lots of others, some that already have been mentioned by the others, so I won't repeat them here.
I am working on some newer ones, but lots of practice is in order.

I'm not doing good. I have only sung 13 songs from a combination of everyone else's list. None from Earls. I've done Wrong at home once or twice.

So I guess that means I rarely do wrong!

You can't control what your singers sing and it can slow down to boring quick. So the song that gets them out of their chairs dancing. Sandra is the master with her wide array of Cumbia's, a hundred or so. I learned to sing "Bust A Move" "Boot Scooting Boogie" and many, many others...So if it gets them dancing, thier our favorites...

Chico - Thank you VERY much for starting this thread. In all the years I have been singing karaoke, I have never bothered to make a listing of the songs I sing. This thread prompted me to do so. I had no idea how large of a repetoire I had until I started writing them all down. I quickly switched to an Excel spreadsheet for sorting and categorizing.

Like other have noted, I have too many to dump here so I broke my list up a little

"B"-Game Songs
Black Crowes - She Talks to Angels
Journey - Still They Ride
Jet - Are you Gonna Be My Girl
Dave Matthew's Band - Crash
Beatles - Oh Darlin'
Little River Band - Lady

"A"-Game Songs
Ambrosia - How Much I feel
Journey - Lights
Billy Paul - Me and Mrs. Jones
Billy Joel - She's Got a Way
Little River Band - Reminiscing
Richard Cheese - Baby Got Back (vocal elimination)

"After too many Jaeger-Bombs" Songs
Sarah McLachlan - Posession
John Michael Montgomery - Sold

"After WAY too many Jaeger-Bombs" Songs
Celine Dion - My Heart Will Go On

Songs I want to learn
Train - Drops of Jupiter
Jason Mraz - I'm Yours
Soundgarden - Blow Up the Outside World
Black Crowes - Seeing Things

chrisavis, nice list there. I'm glad there is someone else singing Ambrosia's How Much I Feel. Great song! Biggest Part of Me by Ambrosia is also a good one.

@seattledrizzle - Are you really local to Seattle? I will PM you. I am in Redmond.

I have tried The Biggest Part of Me and I screw it up. It is a matter of practice I know so maybe i will just dedicate some extra time to it.
How Much I Feel is in my top 3 favorite songs to sing at karaoke. Great song. One of the few I think I really feel and communicate to the audience with.

Yep, really from the rainy city. I did say the Biggest Part of Me is a good song, but refrained from saying I can sing it well. ;) It's a little on the high side for my range, but that hasn't stopped me from attempting it. I just put the song in when I think the people might need a cigarette break.

I guess I have an eclectic songlist

Some of my favorite songs to sing are...

Still Rock and Roll to Me - Billy Joel
Anything by John Cougar Mellencamp
Gold Digger - Kanye West
The Bartender Song
I Don't Want To Be - Gavin Degraw
Fly Me To The Moon - Frank Sinatra
Red Solo Cup - Toby Keith
Most songs from Zac Brown Band
I'm Yours - Jason Mraz
500 Miles - Proclaimers
Get A Haircut - George Thorogood

and others....

I will try most songs at least once, it's the only way I find new songs to sing. :)

It's not that good--am too old to get too scanty and not scare people. I made a "Roman Candle Bra" out of cardboard and paper towel tubes and covered it with glitter, sequins, etc. It is actually the "California Girls" costume but I use it for "Firework." I have metallic stars shooting out the ends instead of whipped cream and sometimes add a spray of glow sticks. On holidays like 4th of July or New Years, have donned the Roman Candles and a wig and attached a basket of glo-bracelets or Mardi Gras beads or whatever to my belt loop and go through the crowd throwing them at the "let your colors show" parts. Don't do it too often. Want it to stay amusing.

They do sell the full costume now but ours is a low budget production. But it might come in handy for you to wear on one of your theme nights. It would be a short jump for you from high disco shoes to spiked heel boots.

i don't have one favourite song, but I do sing a LOT of 60's style music because that is what best suits my singing voice and range.

Here are a lists of songs that I have sang the most *over ten times* over the last ten years, in no particular order.

Kev's Courtin Song by Kevin Bloody Wilson
SIt on My Face by Monty Python
Crying, You Got it, Dream Baby, It's Over - Roy Orbison
A whole whack of songs by the Everly Brothers
Words of Love, True Love Ways,
Rave One, It Doesn't Matter - Buddy Holly
Runaway, Keep Searchin' - Del Shannon
Handle with Care - Travelling Wilbury's
Beep Beep - Playmates
Cheater Cheater by Joey & Rory
Long Black Veil - Lefty Frizzell
I'm Alive - Celine Dion
Major Tom - Peter Schilling
One Night in Bangkok - Murray Head
Somebody Like You - Keith Urban
King Tut - Steve Martin & the Tootuncommons
Here Comes my Baby - Tremelos
pretty much everything by Dion & the Belmonts
Shout Shout (knock yourself out) - Ernie Maresca
Muppet Show Theme Song
TV Theme song from Mighty Mouse
TV Theme song from Greatest American Hero
Promised Land, If i Can Dream - Elvis Presley *i sing a LOT of Elvis but these are the two I do most often*
Bus Stop, Carrie-Anne - Hollies
I only want to be with you, Bye Bye Baby - Bay City Rollers
Have I the right - The Honeycombs
Honeycomb - Jimmy Rodgers
Sugar Shack - Jimmy Gilmer & The Fireballs
Shakin' all Over, Clap for the Wolfman - The Guess Who
Indiana Wants Me - Dean Taylor
Me & You and a Dog named Boo - Lobo
The Way - Fastball
Break it to them Gently - Burton Cummings
Sweet City Woman - Stampeders

there are a whole whack of others that i sing often, but I don't do a very good job on them, or I just cant' remember right now. The most often song that i do that i tend to butcher is "Still haven't found what I'm looking for
by U2.

I'll post more if I remember

-James
