I understand what you are saying about the conditions of passing the audit, and the 2% variance allowance, and that somewhere within SC's policies, it is written that you still have to get rid of those songs and discs that fell into that 2%. Here's what I don't quite understand... After Chris passed his audit with SC, and it was pointed out that he had some fakes (unbeknownst to him prior to the audit) in his collection, why didn't the Auditor tell/instruct him that he now has to remove them from his harddrive and get rid of the counterfeit discs as versus Chris stating that he has decided to just do that on his own?

I think that's a fair question, and it is one that I am looking into for precisely the reason that you asked it. The audit acknowledgement does say that those tracks have to be removed. I will say that the audit rep who is on-site doing the audit isn't the one making that call; he's there to collect information and mark the discs. But if that wasn't made clear to Chris at the conclusion of his audit, that was a mistake. It should have been. I've had enough conversations with Chris to believe him when he says he wasn't told to remove the discs, so we will make certain to do so in the future.

While I wasn't asked to remove them, upon discovering the first fake, I placed it aside and mentioned I would delete the tracks. As we found the additional discs I repeated that I would delete them.

I don't think it was necessarily an oversight on the part of the auditor so much as me immediately saying I would be deleting them. The auditor certainly did not tell me it was no big deal and I could leave them. I made it clear I would delete so I just don't think he felt it necessary to note it as a part of the audit compliance.

I reality, what I have chosen to get from SC will be more than enough. I'm just pressing the point to see the in's and outs... No one really sings the Doors down here and I bought the CB40198 disc to cover them. The Gem covers most Eagle songs people would want to sing also...It's the "Hey Baby Que Paso" people want, go figure for where I live. And yes I've found where to get it. Anyway, thanks for making it clear where SC stands on this...

When I did my audit I was unable to locate 4 disks out of the 850 + I own. I have been digital for almost 10 years and when I purchase disks I open 1 rip it and put it on both units. I do this at my house. My disk collection is stored on another property about 4 miles away and somewhere between the house and the pole barn 4 sealed disks were misplaced at the the time of the audit. SC did not give me a hard time at all, and the disks turned up under the passenger seat of my van the next day. I had ordered replacements from SC for the 4 disks but they cancelled the order when I called the next morning. I had bought a Gem for the second rig to give it more SC tracks as my patrons usually request SC and ended up getting 4 other disks for system 1 for songs on the GEM that weren't on unit 1. SC rep was very pleasant during the audit and I am getting a lot of use out of the upgraded second rig. I had originally split my rigs so that most SC were in 1 and most Top hits Monthly were in the other, then when production slowed I started buying 2 of whatever came out and putting them in both. Rig 2 only had about 50 SC disks before I added the GEM. As an aside, attendance at all shows is definitely up since the systems are more unified in the library (version) content.

I have bought some tracks from the Clark Music site and will likely order some more. It's just easier than trying to figure out what discontinued disks the songs were on and then waiting for them to turn up on eBay...and then I have seen some disks sell for a lot of money as well.
