Our voices lower as we age.. a natural process. I saw Bette Midler not too long ago... she has lowered her key to fit her newage (sic) range. Lots do it. :)

And Heaven forbid you ever smoked. That will REALLY lower your range. Speaking from experience, ANYONE who smokes should quit, especially if you sing!! I haven't had a single drag since May 3, 2006. I got some of my range back, but not all of it.

It's easy to quit, i've done it several times!
Seriously, wish I could, have tried. It's hard I still work in a smoking bar (tribal property) where smoking is allowed inside. I think if that factor wasn't there, i'd probably have an easier time quitting. I rarely smoke at home and never in my car.

Unfortunately, smoking is still allowed in our bars, unless 30% (I think), of their revenue comes from food. I am hoping when I start working, it will be in a bowling alley, where you can't smoke. It would kind of suck to quit smoking and then get lung cancer from my job. LOL

Heard a host introduce "La Bamba" once with it having been written about Rickie Valenz and friends going to the prom in a beater car named, "La Bomba" or something to that effect. She was serious.

I researched it and it is a traditional marriage ceremony song. As the song originated in a coastal fishing town, it is thought that the groom is promising the bride that he will behave as a Captain and not a sailor when he is away from her at sea. Part of the ceremony involves the couple tying a bow with their feet as they dance around a ribbon on the floor. The "arriba, arriba" is telling them to dance faster and faster. The Ballet Folklorico dances the traditional version and it is difficult to pick the current tune out of it.

Just thought I'd throw that in.......I like to know what a song is about if I attempt it.

I doubt if he has ever had the chance to use him. He won't even answer his question.

No.

And for that matter, I think the use of Auto-Tune needs to be limited to making novelty videos where politicians and news anchors sing instead of speaking. I had to beg my wife to let me stop watching Glee because I couldn't stand it, with the Auto-Tune cranked up to 11. When I pointed it out to her, she got tired of it, too. Party Rock is in the house tonight? I think not.

(I'm not normally this much of a grouch--just having a tough day.)

Welcome to humanity. I know that it's incredibly hard to believe, but I, myself, have had an occasional off moment. Astounding, huh? :o

Autotune just needs to be banned altogether! It was a fun 'gimmick' for an occasional - OCCASIONAL effect, but now these no talent hacks on the radio today rely on it for the entire song - c'mon, how about something really creative & actuall SING the song!

Auto-Tune is one of the reasons why Taylor Swift's music makes my ears bleed.
