That being said, the publishers have never agreed to a lack of liability on the professional KJ's part. This is not directed specifically toward SC's product either, since much of the music available is in the same boat.

What I'm saying is that virtually all hosts are open to liability from the publishers/owners if they ever decide to get involved. Usage of the 8125 not exempt.

That could be said of ANY disc from ANY manu. Why everyone holds onto the 8125 not being done legally, so were probably 50-70% fo the discs ever produced i;m willing to bet - especially since several are put out of business because of it.

Why would the Eagles have a problem with SC when Backstage did a karaoke disk of them with no problem??

They never had a problem with the karaoke music when SC had it on Cassette only - no lyrics, it was when CDG came out & SC was producing their CDG library from their previous mechanical rights agreements - cdgs weren't classified as audio/visual yet - just phono records like cassettes. Most artists (or publishers) gave the ok - however after the fact - Don Henley & Gleen Frey both had problems with the lyrics being displayed & denied that, which is when 8125 was killed! From what I understand what was produced/sold was taken care of, but nothing more could be produced and stores that had not sold their stock had to recall them.

That just makes The Eagles big fat hiney holes, if you ask me.

At least since 1995!!!!!! Since the 8125 recall! However there have been several artists since then that have either pulled rights, denied renewal or other things which is why many discs are discontinued. Seattle bands are notorius for that, Alanis Morrisette is another, Garth Brooks is another, the list goes on. Some will give rights, then pull them at a later date - look at Chartbusters what they produced, as to what is currently available.

I guess they discontinued the two Led Zeppelin disks. That really blows since Volume 2 cracked on me last week!!! Wait, Karaoke.com still has it. Cool.

I just got the second Led Zeppelin disc and was surprised how awful Custard Pie is. I did some searching and it looks like the only version available?

I haven't seen another version of that.

I find nothing wrong with the version of Custard Pie???? What is it you don't like?? I do tend to have to turn up the bass a tad, but otherwise it sounds pretty spot on to the original.
