Hi Guys - Shaun Thomson from Billy Goat Karaoke NSW Australia here.

I checked with Phill from Karaoke Scene, and he said it would be ok for me to ask karaoke show owners here to beta test out software I've created that sets up a karaoke song book for mobile phones.

The software is called SongbookDB Pal TM. Once installed on your computer, it...

a) uploads the song book set up files to a folder on your site called songbookdb

b) allows you to edit and personalise the appearance of your songbook (add your logo etc)

c) allows you to quickly update your song book database

- I'm making the software free to use.
- the default song book is ready to go after a 60 second installation
- it's fast and easy to use

Anybody testing this?

I've setup an account with them, have my unique book code and installed the software, but I don't see any way to add songs

Just got an updated installer from Sean. Had to uninstall the previous version and re-install, but it appears to work. Will have to wait till I get home to see if I can upload my library.

It's been a while since I first posted here. I have been non-stop working on SongbookDB, and with a small group of beta testers (some from these forums!) who have been immensely helpful with bug testing, feedback, and feature requests - I am very grateful.

I kept the initial beta group small while making some major changes, but am now ready to test on a larger group, so if you're still keen to beta test SongbookDB, I am ready.

Features added since I was last here:

- central website for hosting all books
- .csv file importing for those who work part or wholly with discs (as opposed to just mp3s)
- disc ID and track numbers displayed
- gig guide editor included
- plus lots of other little tweaks that I have surely forgotten about by now

GETTING YOU STARTED - first up, the public use a 5 character code to connect to your book. Normally, song book owners are allocated a random code when they first register, but beta testers get to choose their own free personalised code - so if you can mail me your code choice and show name, I can then forward you the registration page details. Your code can be any combination of capital letters and numbers (or all letters or all numbers).

Yes - until the software is out of beta testing, there is no publicly advertised sign up page - I give out the link to each beta tester as I increase the test group size.

So if you want to take part, PM me (with your desired 5 character code, show name and country).

Hi guys

In case you missed the ad in the latest Karaoke Scene mag, SongbookDB.com is taking more beta testers for mobile phone versions of your karaoke books.

We have about 50 new DJs on board for testing, and 200-ish new public user sign ups since the mag came out two weeks ago. It's been fantastic, as it's highlighted bugs I didn't expect to come about (since eradicated), and I've had some awesome feedback re features to tweak or add.

The public connect to your song book at SongbookDB.com, and you use the desktop app SongbookDB Pal (TM) to log into your song book and add songs, gigs, accept requests at gigs.

FEATURES:

- send song requests from phone to DJ's laptop (DJ can turn this feature on or off, plus toggle the location tracker)
- save songs to user's Favs folder
- SongbookDB social network - singers can message each other
- gig guide

It's EASY and intuitive to use - I have only had one 'how do I do this?' question since I started developing SongbookDB and SongbookDB Pal.

I entered a gig to my list but I am unable to set the date of the gigs. It defaulted to today's date and the calendar control in the Air app doesn't seem to work when I click on it.
