That's where I see the opposite. A few of the kj's that have admitted to having these drives around here says they don't bother getting new stuff, if a singer can't find something in their vast library, then so be it. I know one kj hasn't bought/stole anything 'new' in 5 years or so.

This biggest pirate here that has also been know to supply drives and music to the other pirates is constantly adding new music. As soon as it's available for downloading he has it

well, I for one like to hear different songs sung... it makes for an interesting show. Five years? Interesting. I can only wonder how that would go in this area, when you tell people 50 times a night you don't have the song they want to sing.

I love doing "Oldies Shows" it's great music, and you don't have to update your music and song books very often. If I purchased the KJ Media Pro the new stuff would not even get looked at, let alone sung. Plus, the oldies are shorter songs and I can get minimum of 20 singers per hour, which equates to happier singers. I do a 3 hour show and with 20-22 singers everyone will always sing 3 songs.

Well, still waiting on my harddrive. Called up Chartbuster, and initially was told it hadn't shipped yet, but the she corrected herself and said I should get it Wednesday or Thursday. Still a bit slow, considering I paid extra for priority mail, in my opinion. Still, I'll be happy just to get it.

Well, its Thursday, and I still haven't gotten my KJ Pro Harddrive, and I'm becoming frustrated. This is a bit ridiculous. Seriously, a week and a half via priority mail???

The pirates that I used to go to their shows always bragged they had everything and that a salesman came around once a month and gave them every new song that was out there. This was nearly 4 years ago, not sure if they still have that deal or not. But definitely there are pirates out there with new stuff as well. I'm sure there are some that don't have anything from the last year or two as well.

Are you tracking it? Seems a bit out of whack.

I've had mine for quite a while now. The one complaint I had about it was I couldn't show unlocked songs on my karaoke kiosk but they've worked thru it and they now show.

Whether you want old songs or new songs, this thing is great! Don't want new songs? There are thousands of old songs on there. I had many of them before I bought the drive but there are many more I don't have and I don't want to buy discs that I already have 8 or 10 of the songs on it. So this thing works perfect for me. When the new songs come out, I add many of them on the spot. That's just my decision, others may wait til the songs are requested, perhaps just so they can hear the song before they play it "live" at a show in case there's a problem with the version or the file.

If I had it all over to do again, I'd do it! And a little bonus, CB called me a few months ago and offered me 500 credits for $300. I jumped on it immediately! Still working off those 500 plus the 50 free that came with it. I supposed I have 200 or so credits left.

Be nice to buy all manus in this manner...

And, Compuhost has a lyrics sync slider on it. I rarely use it except on Devil Went Down to Jamaica. Swipes are way off!

Hey Ripman8...Was looking at Compuhost, can you play CDG's with this software? I didn't see it mentioned on their site. Thanks!

unless I am mistaken, all they currently has is a built in switch that you can connect an external cdg player to if you have a video card with an input source connected.

...Thanks. Just don't want to haul around my old cdg player since I've converted cdg's to mp3g + cdg files. However, I still need a player for cdg's (singers & SC cdg). Been using RoxBox, I like it but it doesn't do cdg's.

....No more need to wonder. Decided to call Karaokeware, Inc. (Compuhost). Currently they don't have that feature. However, it could be a future add-on.

Used it last night, and everything works great. Had a bit of a hiccup as i had to transfer the credits from online to offline, but after that it was smooth as silk. Actaully got two new songs last night. There were some new one that my singers have been looking for, so they were happy, and impressed!

Just another tool that keeps me ahead of the curve of everyone else out there.

Let me just say, I'm loving this KJ Pro HD from Chartbuster. Brillant, KJ and singer friendly, and so convienent. I think I was stressing from excitment over getting it and its met all my expectations so far.

Hopefully, it will update frequently and stay current.

I am a newbie so forgive me if this is a stupid question. If I were to get the KJ Pro HD from Chartbuster with all these songs that I can unlock, how do I get new songs going forward. Do I download them from their website. Is there a charge for downloading or is the charge only upon unlocking.

First you have to have the karaoke hosting program, compuhost.

Once you have that, its all set up for replenishment and management via the application. It updates at no charge, and there is a button that allows you to by more credits. You have to be connected to the internet for those processes, but not to redeem your credits from the harddrive.

I have had the Medio Pro for about 4 months. My only gripe is the lack of new releases.

Called today and was told they were working on them, same thing I was told last month.

The last new updates were from the Jan, '12 release and when I asked about Feb. '12 I was told they wern't coded yet, But she offered to sell me the Feb disc at a discount. BS!!!
I told her I should not have to buy a disc.

I used Karma before I purchased the drive so I had to buy Compuhost also. I'm in for $300+ and still can't get new songs.

I've been using the CB HD for about 6 months now and I like it. Don't really care for the Compuhost software but it's a necessary evil to unlock the songs. I use it to unlock them then use my other karaoke software to play and run my shows.
