I don't know if DigiTrax does make music, but they do have their own label that they sell customs through karaoke.com, unfortunately there are no sound clips to hear quality, but they are pricey at $5 per track for custom disc. Whether they made the tracks or subbed them out from other sources.

I don't believe "Digitrax Karaoke" in Missouri is related. I believe the actual company is "Digitrax Entertainment" and if you do some searches for that you will find familar names and locations.

well it appears the pirates MURDERED them...I personally would not count on any of the promises CB made being honored...with a new company taking over they are not under any obligation to do so. Not sure about the media-pro....they may or may not keep it active...we will have to play the waiting game to see as Digitrax makes announcements.(my opinion is they may honor the contract with coompuhost to licence the CB library until the end of the contract...to promote goodwill).

I feel really bad for Debbi, Norbert, David, Grechen and all of those who "were" CB....I will miss then. Danmed Pirates

FYI, I emailed CompuHost about the KJ Media Pro HD, and here's some key points of their response:

1) Chartbuster will cease supporting the system, effective May 10, 2012.

2) The KJ Media Pro HD will offer access to the DigiTrax library at some point in the near future, and will honor outstanding credit, except....

3) Everyone should withdraw their credit BEFORE the May 10, 2012 date. Only credits withdrawn to your local drive will be honored. All credits residing on the Chartbuster accounting system after May 10 will be forfieted.

4) CompuHost NOW OWNS the rights to the KJ Media Pro, and will manage it from now on. This could mean MULTIPLE SONG VENDORS, and support for new releases!! The system might actually improve!!

Better news than I expected!!

If you read the lawsuit against them from CAVS you might just think that perhaps they committed suicide. One that started years ago.

Besides, they are really not going anywhere.

Except didn't they close down the actual Big Mama Recording studio like a year ago? It looks like maybe they are just reserving the distribution/licensing rights to their existing karaoke catalogue. There wouldn't seem to be all that much $$$ in that.

Believe they still have a studio (conjecture on my part of course), but within the last month Digitrax Entertainment was looking to hire a mix engineer intern.

Show tonight, as of right now I am able to stream Chartbusters music like always. BUT..I do have "credits" for purchasing disc's etc. I wonder if I am screwed here. I'm sure the streaming will be down very soon. Glad I was savvy enough to at least build my library 1:1 as I went along so as not to rely on streaming alone. Sigh...Hope the new place is a good one :bawling:

WAAAY too much is being made of this. The principals of CB are involved with Digitrax. This would give me the idea that they simply dissolved the old corporation to get out of debt - current AND upcoming ( like the large CAVS payout- from legal issues.

The idea is to dissolve CB. It's gone, so there is no entity to hold the debt liability, or liability for anything ELSE. They create a new corporation that is debt and liability free, and move the assets under it's protection, leaving those owed holding the bag.

Not ethical, but it happens every day.

I'm sure their might be some serious culling of the original library ( at least I HOPE- leaving only licensed tracks), but I think many of their songs will still be available.

As for certifications: If- after seeing what happened to your money and credits- you still feel a completely unexplainable need to do it AGAIN, I would wait until after May 12, and do it with the NEW corporation. What good would a brand new CB cert do?

On the other hand, I've heard that current CB "certified" hosts MAY be able to get an addendum from Digitrax to staple to the original cert.

That was EXACTLY what I told Chip today when he told me. I'm pretty sure that's also why Chartbuster isn't the named Plaintiff. It appears as though they created a new company to front the lawsuits, so any judgments or settlements can't be levied against when they get hit by CAVS.

Give that man a cookie.

Not much info on the DigitraxKaraoke.com website, but looking through the html source and css code I saw something a little interesting. I see references to images for Preform Track (Get 5 Tracks Free), KCloud (5 Tracks and Streaming free for a month) and Ensley Studio.

Could be just crap images (place holders) while they're working on the layout though.

It seems like what DigitraxKaraoke.com is to Chartbuster is similat to what Stingray is to Sound Choice.

Well for us dinosaurs out there (ODs) there is no stress, no muss, carry on as usual.

At least they aren't still calling themselves a Karaoke company, unlike SC. They are at the very least, more honest than SC. They are calling this new entity Piracy Recovery, LLC. At least you know what they are about.

Yes, they appear to be about protecting any new revenue generated from lawsuits from judgments rendered against them.

I just think it's funny -- when one of these companies files a lawsuit against a KJ, we practically have a cheerleader-lead lynch mob. When someone files a lawsuit against SC or Chartbuster, there is not a peep. It seems to be very hard for some people (not talking about you, Bobby) to believe that their precious manufacturers might not be as white as the driven snow as they want to believe, so it's easier to ignore it altogether.

This new change in names appears to be a shell game. I might be wrong, but, then again....
