It's weird, most of our shows in the area we do are country dominated, with a lot of women singers. The new venue we now play at weekly is male singer dominated and rock/metal song choices. Admittedly, this is the area where I am weak in selection. Go figure! Guess you never know what people will want to sing.
What genre is most common at your shows?

Of course this varies somewhat week-to-week as the audience changes, but for a typical night hear a lot of late 80's and 90's and 00's pop Music. The audience for my current location is primarily late 20 and early 30 somethings. I have heard a lot of N'Sync and Back Street Boys tracks that I have never heard before. We also have a large number of stage actors/show people that drop in (the venue is directly behind a Teatro Zinzanni dinner theater) so I hear a lot more in the way of showtunes than I am accustomed to.

I have heard "Total Eclipse of the Heart" and "What's Up" every week now for 8 weeks running. Sometimes Fri and Sat night. Those tracks may mysteriously "break" if it continues much longer.

Our one venue is heavy on older country and older rock. Venue two is heavy rock and metal. Venue three current rock and country with some 80's 90's rock . Venue four is anything goes. So we keep buying all genres.

EXACTLY! This is the exact reason why a kj should have a broad selection - no not meaning everything ever produced in karaoke, just a good 'core' of every genres most popular. Then you buy accordingly to singer requests/tastes per venue.

We get primarily rock from the 70's to today. Lots of pop/alternative/metal/thrash/new wave. As far as country, it's usually newer stuff - within the last 5-10 years, not a whole lot of older sing through your nose about losing everything type stuff  Play a country song backwards, you get everything back!! :P

That sounds like MY kind of show!! I would LOVE that kind of crowd. My collection could accommodate that crowd nicely. At my fill in show, the crowd changes, week to week. I remember when I was running my buddy's show every other Saturday, I started getting a more rock oriented crowd on my nights. It was nice.
