Here is a pic of the one I built. It is about 5 feet long and about 30 inches wide. Has 2x2 angle on each side, coped at corners to remove sharp corners. Angle is bolted using nyloc nuts and short carriage bolts (pre-drill holes) At each end is a piece of lighter gauge flat metal sheets attached with wood screws (recessed) so the transition from ground to ramp,,, and ramp to trailer is easy on the wheels of my gear. The plywood is a simple piece of plywood 3/4 inch thick cut down to the size I wanted. Very study, not slick and only took about 45 minutes to build. I can handle it with one hand easily and it stores inside my trailer with all my gear.

Like JD said,, K.I.S.S. .. Keep it simple stupid... no need for elaborate or expensive store bought stuff. Nothing to be ashamed of to build something that works for your needs.

I like this.

This is pretty much what I built. Except I used 12 ga steel for my ramp ends, I wish I would have broke them at 10 15 degrees but used 30. Flattening out a bit as I go though.

Bob,, I used 18 ga galvanized at the bottom of the ramp, totally flat, but extends outwards towards the ground, so it contacts the ground at almost any angle. The metal at the top of the ramp is 26 ga. bent at about the 30 degrees as you mentioned, but it flexes to fit almost any angle that I need. Good job!! Hope it works as well for you as it did me.

I was lucky enough to have the steel pieces painted on a powder paint line, pretty hard stuff. Painted black. Got to use it for the first time Saturday night. I won't need it for all gigs, won't always be using the sub.
