I was wondering how many karaoke companies are using QR codes for their business and/or books????

What's QR?

not any here in s.e. washington state or central Idaho that I know of.....

but interesting idea. worth looking into it.

To be fortunate enough to derive an income from a source as fulfilling as karaoke music has got to be as close to heaven as we can get here on earth!

Another host in our area has business cards with QR codes that link to her online songbook. She gives them to patrons that appear to have smart phones. Looked like a good idea to me so I had QR codes linking to our online songbook printed on stickers that I put on the front of our books. I point them out to the patrons I see with smart phones and recommend that they save a shortcut. They then don't need a book unless they just want to browse.

I polled some college students on QR codes about 6 months ago, less than 20% said they used them with any regularity. I need to poll again to see if the percentage is going up or down. I personally scan them very rarely.

Your results are very typical. Hardly anyone knows what they are, much less knows how to use them. Big flop, according to an article I read recently.

We've even stopped installing those apps on people's phones as a demonstration tool because they never, ever get used. I use the app maybe once every two months, at most.

Used them to link to my online songbook for a year now. Rarely if at all used, but it was free to set up and I'm of the theory better to have something not used than something needed.

Use them for my smartphone songbooks, but they rarely get used.
