"As KJ's we've been told for years to "trust us" when it comes to licensing from virtually all the karaoke manufacturers."

and for all of those we have been told by many here to verify and get proof of what any manu says..........unless it is SC, them you should just believe unless you have proof otherwise.

Wow, am I late to the party.

So let me get this straight. You guys are aligning yourselves behind a particular poster based on anonymous emails, critical omitted info, secret sources and hearsay? Vouched as authentic by the posters unbiased wife?

Bravo. :clapper:

From what little I could glean of the original email reply, there is nothing at all "top secret" that needed to be censored.

So why censor unless you don't want a reply or explanation? You guys always rant about SC having a sinister agenda. I see only one agenda here.

On another note entirely, I recently received an email from a secret government connection I have!

Dear Bazza,

Attached is a memo I recently uncovered proving that JFK was ordered killed by ********! Of course you will note that ****** and ****** signed the order as well as two high ranking members of the ****.

This certainly sheds new light on the murder, wouldn't you say!

Your friend, ********************.

So there you have it. Undeniable proof that JFK was assassinated.

(BTW my wife has seen the original emails and states they are 100% true).

So let me get this straight. You are aligning yourself behind a particular poster based on legal indemnifications, critical omitted info, secret licensing information that you're supposed to trust as true and hearsay? From a manufacturer who has been sued multiple times for copyright infringement? Vouched as authentic as posted by their unbiased attorney?

Yeah. That's what I thought.

Bravo :clapper:

Ahh...the good ole straw man! Nowhere above did I align myself behind anyone...except my top-secret, completely authentic, government friend of course. And as you can see, he is undeniably authentic! My wife says so as well!

"Nice try" though.

But... we already know that someone shot/killed/assissinated JFK.... Now MAYBE if your letter spoke of a Conspiracy Theory...

But that's exactly what i'm getting at saying song "*** **** ** ******" is NOT proving anything. Something posted that can be backed up would actually have a name of a song & publisher talked to - there is nothing to 'back up' what he states in the OP except a bunch of little asterisks.

You skipped the rest of my post. Put forth the effort to contact the the publishers and ask questions yourself- no one is stopping you. Then you will KNOW. There would be no debate or doubt.

Oh, but that is what it's all about! I spoke to my friend many times on the phone prior to this email, you will have to take my word for it. He has proof that you wouldn't believe! Just you wait! It's coming...very soon! And it's gonna be big!

And which publisher should we call... The one that Chip mentioned in his letter that he just shared with us??? ANd which song should we ask about... the one that Chip also mentioned in that same post???... Oh wait.....

Joe, are you suggesting that we go through each of our song titles listed in our books by SC, and go from A to Z until we find the right Publisher? I don't know about the others here, but I know that I definitely don't have that kind of free time on my hands to do that... and please don't suggest researching the song titles from SC 8125... that's a moot point.

I believe the standard answer you'll get if you press SC for licensing proof will be something along these lines:

"Yes, all of our songs by that publisher are licensed fully, but because it is super-secret-confidental-hush-hush-trade deal that we don't want to fall in the hands of our competitors, we can't show you (or otherwise substantially prove) the real license.... you have to "trust us" because we are who we are."

And I would venture to speculate that you'd get the same kind of answer from Digitrax.

Doesn't Chip know Red Peters?

Maybe the publishers of his songs is what the OP refers to.

Again, talking about this OP. So no song title, no way to verify.

I do know Red Peters but no, it's not him. But since you brought it up, ask Harrington when SC8117 was first sold and how many years later did his songs actually get licensed (after the fact). I could be wrong... but I believe it to be at least 3 years of record-setting sales. And Red had to have his attorney contact sound choice - it certainly wasn't sound choice that contacted him for licensing prior to any release.

Bob Clifford, ("BC/Studio manager" for Sound Choice) had posted (if I recall correctly) that the first "Mama Disc" was the all-time top seller when it came out.
BC/Studio Manager - 3-23-07 wrote:
8117 has sold more than any other disc in the history of Sound Choice - all those sales weren't to KJs looking for an 'all dirty songs' disc. It sold because of the quality of the songs, and, at that time, the lack of availability of those songs elsewhere.

One has to wonder how many of the other songs on that disc alone were licensed on the same -- or worse -- schedule.

There are other artists that I've contacted that have a single song out on karaoke and don't know how they got there either -- because they can't recall licensing them to anyone for karaoke use... ever.

Sorry, I thought it was clear from previous threads that you guys were buddy-buddy and you were personally handling all his karaoke.

My mistake.

No mistake. We are friends... we don't necessarily talk everyday however. I sent an email and I'll let you know what happens.

Bazza,

WHY do you always try to rip on Chip?

He IS a KJ like yourself and doesn't ask anything from anyone nor gets paid for anything.

In FACT, he GIVES lots of things for FREE and is ON THE SIDE of us KJS, looking out for us.

He has noticed and SHARED information on the manus that have broken laws while suing Kjs.

What, if anything, have Y-O-U contributed, given for free, or done to protect KJS...???

Any Injustices by the manus SHOULD be exposed if they are suing their own customers.
Any Injustices by pirating kjs SHOULD be exposed if they are hurting this industry.

All i see is you ripping on a fellow colleague and professional that is trying to help KJ see some truth. :(

Since my post was ignored, I guess no one who doubts Chip wants to put forth the effort to check themselves- they would just rather debate. Seems kind of a waste, but whatever....
