I am a recreational karaoke singer. I love it so much I purchased a RSQ Neo-22 for home. Well I'm not happy with this unit. I purchased it because I wanted to convert CD to digital but everything i convert becomes corrupt after a few plays. So now I'm looking into buying karaoke software so I can just use my laptop as my karaoke player the way the professionals do. I am having a hard time finding software. Let alone, reviews on the software that seem trust worthy.

So my question is what is the best way to convert CD+G to digital MP3+G for non professionals?

I use Power CDG Burner to rip my disks.

For software i have Karma and Compuhost. I like karma better the Compuhost. Karma is a little more user friendly.

There is no 'best' way to get an answer from a bunch of people with their own preferences. Each host/kj has their own preference as to which is best suited for them. Some of the programs cost a couple hundred bucks while you can get some free-$100 programs out there.
Best thing is to download each demo and weight the options you think you'll need. If it's for home use parties/casual use, you don't really need all the bells and whistles of a high end hosting program.

Do I need to buy a CD+G drive to convert the tracks or can I use any CDROM Drive?

You can use your CDROM drive if it supports reading karaoke discs (reads the sub channel area of the disc) because not all CDROM drives do.

Did that karaoke software thread just resurface or was it there and I totally missed it?

Okay I have laptop, software, and microphones. How do I get them all to come out of my stereo? That was the one thing I liked about the Neo-22. It's plug and play functionality. Is there a single unit that does this or do I need to buy a mixing board.

You should probably start a new topic for this in the hardware forum.
