Oh hell, if you really want to worry about the world ending, think 2028 (April) or 2034. In 2028 an asteroid ( can't remeber the name- begins with an E, I think) WILL pass so close to Earth that it will be UNDER our weather satellites- FACT. However, this course prediction is from way out, and they are predicting in distances that are absolutely infinitesimal in the astronomical sense. Plus, this does not include any outside gravitational effects or minor collisions with meteors that might change it's course. If it DOES miss, it circles the sun and gets a second attempt in 2034. Happy now?

We're planning an end-of-the-world party at our regular Thursday evening gig.... and IF they Mayans got it wrong... we'll do a "We're Still Here" theme at our other weekly gig Saturday night... We'll have songs with end-of-the-world themes Thursday, and survivor songs on Saturday.
Either way, it's a very good excuse to add a little something to the party.

Great news from NASA. The world will not end Dec 21st http://www.nasa.gov/topics/earth/features/2012.html#endDo I believe the rocket scientists or the Mayans. Let’s see. Didn’t Nasa spent millions of $$ on workable ballpoint pens because it wouldn’t work upside down in zero gravity? (neither here on earth). The Russians just used pencils. Problem solved.

We are now doing an end of the world party. I'm working on Prince 1999. Original context was the future, now it's for the past. Will probably also do Highway to Hell and Top of the World.. I plan on wearing a foil hat all night! Should be a blast... if it happens... that is...

Note to self: Do not make 'The end of the World" party an end of the world event by leaning into the amp with a foil hat! I'm using the BOSE PAS so I don't think I have to worry about that...
