Is anybody actually working on this? Compuhost told me in an email last year that THEY acquired the rights to the KJMP - not Digitraxx.

While I love the concept of the KJMP, I am afraid that all of those that did buy it had better bend over and grab their ankles, smile and except the fact that you have been f%&#@ed ... and I don't think Compuhost cares 'cause it really isn't their problem. The entity that screwed you over is no longer. .......and the love for the (former) industry leaders continues to grow.

Gretchen, can you verify how much of the Chartbuster catalog will be available on the cloud? Right now it looks like only 5000 tracks.

We are working very hard on obtaining the licenses for the rest. We have the majors on board but now we are working on about 450 small publishers for the rest. I will keep everyone posted when the rest start to come in!

Now they have went from "1 to 2 months" to "no release date". It's sad that Karaokeware/Invicion/KJMP/Compuhost/Whatever they call themselves today, can't at least put up a page on their website with "coming soon" info or status. Leaving everyone to just fend for themselves or worse, let rumors and guesses run rampant, is very unprofessional.

You know how when someone gets duped or conned, they like sit there and scratch their head, wondering where their money is and believe for way too long that the situation is going to remedied.
I think this is one of those situations.

Now they have went from "1 to 2 months" to "no release date". remember, it was originally only CB material which is now owned by DT that only has current licensing for about 5000 of the 12,000 tracks, but DT does not own the CB trademark which is all over the tracks on the drive. DT can give licensing for the music, but not for the tracks on the drive because of the CB trademark. it has become a mess with the split of music/trademark.

Well I got another answer from them today, I will share it with you. I think they realize I'm starting to get frustrated with this thing!
"""Hello Bob,
Please understand that while we developed the KJ Media Pro technology, everything from the "servers," to the hardrives, to the credits were all managed entirely under the control of ChartBuster Karaoke. Their "servers" managed the "Online Credit Bank Vault." We have been made to understand that they were ordered (by court order) to cease and assist all business transactions including the sale and support of the KJ Media Pro technology, which also included the "servers" controlling the "Online Credit Bank Vault."
While we would love to create a way for you to “protect” your credits because of this unfortunate situation with ChartBuster Karaoke going out of business, there are many legal restrictions that do not allow for us to meet your referenced request.
We are sorry that you feel "left out in the cold" but you must please understand that we too were “left out in the cold.” We did not want ChartBuster to go out of business any-more than you; we had no control of their music content, online servers or services, the sale of the hardrives or credits, or any other of their various business practices.
We were simply two companies with a common goal to make karaoke music content more easily/readily available to the end user and unfortunately, due to a multitude of circumstances completely out of our control, ChartBuster Karaoke went out of business.
Please understand that we fully understand your frustrations and that is why, as stated in our previous response, we are continuing to work diligently with DigiTrax and other content providers to re-introduce the KJ Media Pro technology as soon as possible, as well as, DigiTrax's Cloud based technology, to again, provide our Users with quick, easy and convenient access to karaoke music content.
We very much sympathize with your situation; we thank you for your patience and will continue to do everything in our power to introduce these technologies as fast as possible.
Have a great day/evening, Support Team"""
I'm at a point where I might invest the time to see what I think are the best 1100 songs on the drive that I don't have and unlock them. At least I will have gotten my money's worth out of my monetary investment! As far as worrying about certification, all these songs have a stamp on the splash screen and the day I can be sued for using them is the day I know 100% that the manu, or whomever owns the rights to the song at that time doesn't give a crap about piracy!

And digitrax, you ARE right in the middle of it in my mind! Don't tell me you have nothing to do with it, you are involved one way or the other. If karaokeware breaks my heart, I will be very pizzed off! I've been a loyal customer of theirs for over 4 years. I feel this thing will get off the ground again sooner or later, but I don't want to start over again from scratch!

I am standing beside you and others that bought the KJMP, pizzed off right along with you.

rickgood wrote: Surely there is somebody smart enough to hack that drive... I am sort of working on it. I do have the neccesary files, but haven't started cracking it. In an effort to assist anyone else in cracking this drive, here is what I know that could be of assistance: These "clues" are based on an assumption that the CDG file and the MP3 file are stacked on top of each other in the .SAF file. That could be wrong, but it is the most logical starting point. MP3 files vary in size due to compression and the encoder used to convert to MP3. However, CDG files are fixed in size. Presumably, if you had a CB CDG file, you could measure the length of it, and that length would help you determine where to position your reader in the .SAF file. An MP3 file that has ID3 tags - the first 3 bytes are "ID3". Also, 128 bytes from the end (or is it 131) look for the word "TAG". Also, if you compare the purchased song to the .SAF file, you can easily get the solution to 128 bit encryption simply by looking at the ID3 tags. Remember, the first 3 or 4 ID3 fields are 30 bytes long. Here is an internet article describing Helix software with the hex code given. Worth a try: http://filext.com/file-extension/SAF Now, if they did not stack these files on top of each other, good luck. Way beyond my capabilities.

I'd like to see that case get into a court room too; where the defendant explains to the judge that he legally bought a thousand dollars worth of song credits only to find out that Chartbuster knew that they would be going out of business shortly and he can't access the material that he paid for in advance so he decided to download them from a torrent site.
NOT GUILTY!!!!
