Funny how so many of those songs are the ones most often sung at karaoke. They may be the worst for some people but they are the favorites of many other people.

All of those songs get done on occasion at our shows, not to the point of hating them yet. What's wrong with Creed? I love Creed

"Sinatra recorded 944 songs. For the love of God, pick something else." I don't think Love Shack gets sung badly. What about These Boots are Made for Walking? Whenever I heard the descending dronelike intro to that song, I get an urge for a cigarette break. Unfortunately, I don't smoke.

A few opinions.
I sing "My Sacrifice" by Creed, but I can't stand "With Arms Wide Open"
One Bourbon, One Scotch, One Beer is one I'd add to the list (nearly 9 minutes with lots of instrumentals make it a rather boring karaoke song; and annoying for the other singers when someone does it.
"My Way" isn't done too often here; but when it is, it's done by a couple of people that really sing Standards tunes well. They often mix it up with other Sinatra songs though, so it's nice to get a bit of variety.
"Rolling In The Deep" (or <insert-other-Adele-song-here>) is very-rapidly getting on my list of worst karaoke songs, but nothing can top "Don't Stop Believing" as the Worst Karaoke Song in my opinion.

"Picture" is number one worst and all my files of "The Rose" are corrupted and can't be played.

I went to a karaoke show tonight where every slow song is considered one of the worst karaoke somgs. KJ makes announcement constantly that if you want to sing a slow song; you should come on Tuesday nights because Saturdays are for PARTY KARAOKE and only up tempo songs will be allowed to be sung....because it's a PARTY....and then he lets a pretty gal in a cowboy hat sing Before He Cheats. What am I missing? Oh yeah! They had someone bring in a Bull Riding machine but Country Music isn't up tempo in the KJ's mind. They should market it as Disco Bull Riding night because that's the kind of music the KJ kept playing; and of course, no one was dancing but the KJ. I give it until Valenmtine's Day before this show is no longer viable. Would anyone else patronize a karaoke bar where the KJ dictates what style of music you can sing?

Bruce, was he dictating or merely suggesting that everyone sing up-tempo songs? ? Alcohol IS a depressant! I consider "Before He Cheats' an upbeat song! There are tons of great upbeat country my crowds sing to! He sounds like he may not be reading his crowds well or finding what they prefer. Too many djs that become kjs fail to realize it's a very different game!

themed parties that are announced work out well. one kj here that runs 3 three hour shows a week has monday- country night wednesday- 80's music (varied) thursday- hip- hop/ r&B as stated, his show are only 3 hours long and are usually packed. Different people on different nights. Different vibe and drink/food specials for the varied people. Has been working it successfully for over 10 years. my shows are a mix of everything, but sometimes i wanna try and "theme-it". I dig the 70's and 80's and wouldn't mind an entire night of ONLY that music. I usually attend his 80's wednesday show and reminisce my junior-high/ high school days!

I consider "Before He Cheats" to be upbeat too... at least as compared to "Crazy"
