Headed for Chicago early Monday morning. Will be there until Friday afternoon. Last year I was there a couple days, went to a Piano bar. This year I want to find some downtown karaoke as I will be staying in the same hotel about a block away from Harry Carey's. Haven't looked online yet, any suggestions?

Of course I'm referring to karaoke bars!

I'm not really familiar with Chicago, but I spent a weekend there back in '06 or '07, and I visited with some of my JOLT (old Karaoke forum) Friends. They are Alma and Steve. I know that they host a Karaoke show at a Piano Bar in the Downtown area. It's called Davenports.

Didn't find that but tomorrow night Blue Frog Bar and Grill is my next karaoke bar stop. 2 blocks from my hotel. Thanks for the heads up Johnny!

After that, hoping to hook up with Johnny and surprise a certain host in the area!

You might also try www.karaokelistings.com

Enter the state and scroll to the city. This site is usually pretty up to date, but no harm in calling ahead...

Wow, I should get a t shirt that says "I survived back to back nights of karaoke with Johnny Reverb!"

What a blast it was. I gotta say though, the first night left a little to be desired for the overall experience. First place advertised to be the best karaoke bar in Chicago. NOT! Let's just say it wasn't and it wasn't close. At least I can vouch that it is only 3rd best at best!

2nd place was a bit better but was still a bit cheesy.

Now last night we drove about 45 minutes and hit the jackpot! The sound was good, the host was skilled and the night was festive!

Best part about it, I finally got to meet Babs! She truly was a wonderful host and I hope I get to go back sometime. Thanks to Babs, Johnny and Karen for a very fun night and a very LATE night as I got in after 2 and had to get up at 5 15 for work!!!!

I never noticed it before but that song sounds a lot like a song that Ricky Martin did back in the day.
