Couldn't readily find the What Is Being Sung Thread but here is an unofficial run down of what the up and coming karaoke singers went for today--aka elementary/middle school types. This was a private function and not the usual school or Club function so with the parent's permission they got to choose from the regular songbook and not just the "Clean" book--but it was the same group of kids that were usually at the school club shows.
The differences were no Taylor Swift done at all when usually she is most popular and "Dynamite" by Taio Cruz knocked "Wheels On the Bus" out of the most done in one session slot. In fact the only "kid" song that was done was an acapella version of "I've Been Working On the Railroad." Next in popularity was "Some Nights" by Fun and "Good Time" by Owl City and Carly Rae Jepson. LMFAO was also popular--nothing like seeing two tiny little boys rap about "going through the ho's like Draino" but the words were really going too fast for them to do anything but sing the chorus anyway. Even had a few takers on the Cupid Shuffle and Gangnam. "Call Me Maybe" and Bruno Mar's "Just The Way You Are" were done twice and 3 Zack Browns were done. Then at one each were Luke Bryan, Blake Shelton, Black Eyed Peas and the Beatles.
What always surprises me are the requests--sorry--didn't have any karaoke Skrillex--and today's song that I didn't have--Numa Numa. But it was fun to hear the newer songs get a workout.

This was actually the first show where at least one of those two Michael Jackson songs weren't done. Usually more Beatles are done also. They have also done the Animals, the Zombies and even Ella Fitzgerald.
Forgot that they also did Justin Bieber's Beauty And A Beat.
