For the last week or so I've been having a search toolbar pop up on the bottom of my screen constantly. If I close it, it just pops up again in a few seconds, sometimes with another window on the side. I can't seem to get rid of it.

The only identification is a logo with a bold block capital "T", white, in a blue box. Can anyone identify it, or tell me how to get rid of it? I don't see anything in my program files or internet options that helps.

Thanks in advance for any help....

Sounds like you've picked up some adware. Did you look in the "Add/Remove Programs" menu of you computer to see if there's anything there that's recent that you don't recognize?

If this is in your browser toolbar, you may also want to check under the "Add-ons" menu of your browser and disable it there.

Had the same thing happen here... Ran a scan with Malwarebytes... found several ad-ware type things... removed anything the scan found, and the problem is gone.

Spybot S&D is also excellent for such things. And free.

Thanks guys. As for the screen shot- I've never been able to post pics here, except for avatars. The "Add The File" button doesn't work for me- depresses, but nothing happens.

I THINK I found it in my Add/Delete files after a second search, and deleted it. The problem hasn't resurfaced tonight- YET.

Thanks, again!

The easiest alternative is simply to upload your pic to http://www.tinypic.com, choosing the "message board" option. Then simply copy and paste the code in the "IMG Code for Forums & Message Boards" section into your message.

Much easier and will work perfectly.

You don't even have to have the pic on your machine. For example. I just right clicked your avatar and chose "copy image location", then plugged that URL into Tinypic. It returned this: http://i49.tinypic.com/35a9o3k.jpg

Put IMG tags around it and you get Image

Presto. You can upload IMG's.

also go into your plugin or add ons setting for your browser and dis able everything that you don't no what it is....

and if you turn something important off that you need, your website you log into will let you know if it's disabled.

under tools tab

internet explorer:
manage addons - then toolbars and extensions turn them all off.

firefox:
addons - then extensions & addons are where you need to turn things off

can't help with any other browsers....

then go into add remove programs and remove any toolbar, coupon, and other stuff that's not normal to you....

you can also goto into msconfig, and disable all the stuff in the startup tab, and then under the services tab - check hide all microsoft services, then disable everything else.

then apply... see if this helps you out

Thanks again!

I have copied, saved and printed the 2 posts above for future reference.

Bazza, it's not the pic size- I can re-size for web pages and e-mails or custom size with HP Photosmart. I just can't get anything to stick on a post with a paste, and again, while the buttons for posting pics depress, they just don't do anything. I've had the problem since the beginning.

Ah, well.......

Wiz, looks like I solved the problem this time. If anyone cares, the name of it was "Net Advisor", though I still don't know that the "T" logo stood for.

Joe. In my instructions you aren't pasting the pic. You are pasting a link to the pic at a third party website (tinypic). If you would simply follow the instructions above, you have no need for any photo editing software or re-sizing. You don't even the the actual pic on your machine. It will work 100% for you and you will never have a problem again.

For years you have said "I cant post pics". I am showing you that you CAN, every time. IF you follow the instructions & try. Are you willing to try?

1 - Choose any pic on the web, or locally on your computer.
2 - Go to http://www.TinyPic.com and upload (if local) or path the URL (if on the web).
3 - The website will return several different option. Copy LINK (the one titled FORUM that starts with [ IMG ]
4 - Reply to this post and paste the entire link.
5 - You have just posted a pic!
