Hello there!

I visited a karaoke bar this weekend and sang King of the Road by Roger Miller.

Thing is, I thought the KJs disc/ track was heaps better than mine- and I want that disc! Didn't get a chance to ask him what disc it was before I left.

Any idea who makes the best version of King of the Road, and can I hear a sample before I buy so I am not stuck with a dud?

Thanks all!

Vic in Sydney

The easiest way to find out which disc that you sang from would be to go back to the bar and ask the Karaoke host what brand it was. According to KJ Pro, there are 139 different discs that have that particular song on it.

I sing that same song,, the version I use is Chartbuster.. it's on CB90126... it's the best one I have seen. The bass guitar is excellent, the finger snapping is sharp and the rhythm is spot on. Good luck in your search.

Agree! Imho, sharp & tight musical arrangement, bass & snapping clearly defined - CB version probably the best out there compared to other leading manus. One manu, instrumentation a little muddy, the other could’ve been good – sans the annoying melodic flute guide. :) can't go wrong with cb vers.

I will be buying that disc on your recommendation if I can find it. I have a BUNCH of versions, and I really am not thrilled with any of them... Also, you're right- the bass and finger snaps are the priorities for that song.

To eliminate the guessing, what version do YOU have.

Most of my discs are sunfly, same with this one!

FYI I had a listen to all of the samples on the websites, Music Factory and Music Maestro are probably closer to the file I am after than the others, just can't hear enough of the sample.

I think I might just stick with this crappy version I have for now.

Thank you all for your input.

Cheers

Vic

Out of all the versions i've heard samples of & actually have (Pioneer & All Hits) - the Sound Choice would be my choice.
Sunfly, SBI, Mr Entertainer are all the same music.
Zoom & Pocket Songs sounded like more of carnival music IMO.
All Hits - this is the one I use right now, but only because it doesn't get done enough to replace with a better version.
Pioneer actually is the worst because it doesn't do the key change in the middle & seems a tad on the slow side.

Couldn't find an online sample for the CB version.

Another reason why karaokecloud should put a song sampler in their menu.

DTE manu is also cb. I don’t know if you’re willing to spend $1.99 download for this song but for a cleaner version I think (imho) it’s worth it. I did. :)

I agree with DTE needing to put up samples. I would like to hear it.

I would probably buy it if the song was done enough to warrant it. At this point it's not a huge issue.
