Went to another local show this last weekend. KJ claimed he had 300,000 songs. I sang a couple and got his number and asked him how a person goes about getting that many songs. He told me for a $1,000.00 he would hook me up. I of course passed but I don't see a future in this any longer for me. With the rural areas I live in it's all about quanity. I understand I need to educate and talk to bar owners but it's just not worth it anymore. These pirates are doing it so cheap I can't compete. It was a fun ride while it lasted.....

Just tell everyone you have 300,001 songs. Trust me. Nobody is counting. Really.

They do. I still use the books and spin the discs. These other guys don't have books. You just tell them what you want to sing and they have it. Trust me, they do notice around here.

The only people noticing are other KJ's. The only thing that matters to the SINGERS is if you have their song and 99% are going to be from the same list of 5000.

That AND you have to bring something to the table other than a pile of music. You have to show them a good time. You can't be a "name caller". You have to give them something they can't get somewhere else. YOU.

If a bar asks how many songs you have, say "A lot! I can't count that high", laugh and be done with it.

I am about to start pulling a bunch of material from my library that I know will never get used. The tracks are duplicated by other better quality brands and they are tracks that I have never seen played by anyone ever. This benefits me in several ways. Thinner books = less cost. Fewer tracks to backup/restore. Fewer discs in my basement. And if I can sell the discs off, I can make a few bucks on the side.

Keep your eyes on eBay.
