Hmmm. I always thought it was "pompitous of Love".

Ok you nit-pickers, it was a typo. pompitous & not pompitious. Wrong spelling on my part. Excuse the **** out of me for not proofreading it first.

@ Cue. Tiny Dancer/Tony Danza, I stand corrected. It was vice-versa - the other way around.

It was more than just a typo, Brian. This is what you typed:

(Cause' I speak of the propitious of love)

You've got an "R" in there that would made it sound completely different. I wasn't pointing out the extra "I" at the end. Geeez!

Sorry for typing the correct word! You really want to get technical, actually, my original post typed ‘propitious’ was right. http://dictionary.reference.com/browse/propitious?s=t

You always thought it was ‘pompitous’ – but no such word exists in the dictionary. http://dictionary.reference.com/browse/pompitous?s=t

You were right about the word coming from his album lyric
I was right by typing the right word (my automatic typing).

From the Steve Miller Band website: “The spelling of pompitous is correct according to the lyric sheet from the album, but you will never find it in a dictionary since the word is made-up anyway!!” So there you have it! Geeez!

I never said that it was a real word, or that it meant anything. I was stritcly referring to it as a word because that is the only way to describe it since is was made up of letters and it was part of a song. Regardless of what it is or isn't; there is no "R" in it. That is for certain.

That one has always been a ??????? !!!!!!!!! True.

Speaking of SBI, Cue, some of their Latin songs are unintellibible. If that is not your first language and you are trying to do a song form their versions, good luck. The Freshly Ground Rap bit in the middle of Shakira's 'Waka Waka" is totally strange, also. Can't say they are a funny misunderstanding--they are just plain wrong.

Well, LL, almost any latin part of any karaoke track out there it's soooo wrong (for instance, that "open the door" in Beck's Loser). But that's ok when you're not a producer from a latin country. Karaokemedia is probably the top producer here in Spain and believe me, it seems like they have monkeys typing the lyrics. For christ's sake, there's a gazillion lyrics sites out there, can't do they do a bit of research first?

It seems like the same monkeys do much of the typing on those lyrics sites as well. I often check the sites when making my own karaoke tracks and they are wrong as often as they are 100% correct. When listening to the original song, you can regularly hear missing words or incorrect words. It's too bad that the artists don't post the correct lyrics on their official web sites.

True that, Bruce.

Or even missing sentences. In Bowie's "Ashes to ashes" (i love that song), both Sunfly and Legends versions (actually the same, the only difference is the logo) are missing the whole phrase "but I'm hoping to kick" right before the chorus. And the accuracy of the cover it's so-so. Zoom version, though, is perfect in any sense. Well, that's subject for another thread, what if it's not the wrong lyrics, but the wrong music? And there's a lot of cr*ppy versions out there from top producers.

The one that bugs me every time is "For there's a god, and there's a sad old padre". It's "guard" folks. Guard. There's a guard and there's a sad old padre. There were no gods there. At least I didn't see any. Sheesh!

Oh, by the way, that's Tom Jones' "Green, Green Grass of Home".

And the funny part is, I have yet to hear any of my singers use "guard"... They just blindly follow what's written on the screen.
