Mr Boo, I guess you didn't read the sections of laws cited by the Plaintiff to make their case. Whether or not the Defendant shows up, the Plaintiff still has to prove its case. They stated a possible case. They "proved" nothing. Hey, maybe they had a solid case. But without access to the evidence and without the evidence being defended, nothing was proved. Actually, we supplied witness testimony and affidavits as proof of our claims. The defendant did not, and perhaps could not, counter that proof. To suggest that we did not prove our case says only that you don't understand the process.

You are suggesting that because the defendant failed to actual produce a defense it proved your case? I think you might be the one here that doesn't understand the process, which explains a lot.

In the vast amount of cases when the Defendant fails to appears it is because they know they have no case. If they thought they had a case they would appear.

I would think that is accurate, Timberlea. In this case we just don't know for sure at this time but I bet more will come of this sooner than later. Hey, if this is pirates I am all for them getting hit hard.

Cause you people do not know these people but you are berating them and they can't defend themselves. I hear all this talk on here about morals and integrity, and very few people on here are actually showing any. Meanwhile, you are getting into people's business and posting it all over the place like it is what you should be doing. (Not directing this at any one person). It's very hypocritical totalk about integrity and morals than act like a bunch of rabid dogs chowing down on the kill. Just saying.

I stuck up for Deanna. She seemed very legitimate to me when I visited her shows. She wouldn't even play a personal disc to make sure that she didn't play a song that she didn't own. Sometimes jealous competitors tell lies to gain and advantage.

BF4L If you went to one of her shows after the suit was filed and information/proof was gathered the changes may have been too late. Sort of like some who have "protested" and "dumped SC" or tried to buy discs AFTER being served. I do not know her nor have I ever been to one of her shows , just listing possible explanations. I will reserve my final opinion until I am able to purchase the transcripts of the case. The one thing that causes me to be so interested is why she fought the lawsuit from Nov 2011 until the day before the trial and them never showed up the date of trial but that should be cleared up in the transcripts. Very interested in the discovery portion as if she was able to show she was 1-1 the lawsuit should have been dropped at that point.

Smooth, they had the chance to defend themselves, but they failed to appear. Since it appears to be at least two of them, one could have shown up, or their lawyer. To say they couldn't defend themselves or had a chance to do so is asinine. They had their chance and blew it.

T he ruling that 'karaoke chicks" was in violation of FUDTPA. (FLORIDA DECEPTIVE AND UNFAIR TRADE PRACTICES ACT)[/quote]Holy Cr@#. We just spoke to this girl yesterday and she asked us about different disc and we were attempting to educate her on what to look for and what questions to ask before you buy more karaoke disc/music (in order to help her ascertain whether or not she is buying unauthorized disc.) She clearly told us that she is licensed with Soundchoice. Maybe she just settled with them and got a legal library. Don't know. Easy to remember her because her voicemail even says you have reached karaoke chicks. We even told her we were going to write the new guide regarding her questions on Singers Solutions, Fast Trax, etc. This does not mean we are taking position against her or speaking negative of her because we do not know the details regarding their business. I am sure the questions she was asking might suggest that she is at least trying to do right. By the way, we agree with the other poster that mentioned that some people seem to get aggressive in how they speak of people who had lawsuits against them. Even though piracy has hurt us beyond belief, we have never had ill feelings toward the consumers that engage in this. I think our dislike heavily weighs against other retailers that facilitate the epidemic. Every consumer we have talked to that possibly had pirated drives, etc. were never judged on a personal level as we do not believe kj's looking for the easy way out paints a true picture of the persons life. Just like viewing a glass half empty or half full. We would never show contempt against karaoke chics if they indeed were running illegal systems. We would rather spend time helping, educating, than to scold. To those that take the tough route and do right as a kj. It does not make others worse, it just makes you that much better Hope that makes sense! http://reviews.ebay.com/Singers-Solutio ... 0176946267MADPROAUDIO ~ EX MILITARY DISABLED ~ FAMILY OWNED COMPANY

purely because i don't know, and i figure others have to have the same question.... how many of the SC wins that went to trial were against someone with a lawyer? this isn't snippy, but a real venture for information.

"If you look at Bob Feller in Florida also, in the 11th hour he beat James, with no lawyer." care to put your money where your mouth is and post the legal documents on this one ?
"How many SC wins were against someone with a lawyer ?" I can only speak of the cases here in Florida that I purchased the legal documents on however a few questions need to be answered before the data means much.
Do you include all that hired an attorney and then underwent audits/Settled ?
Most that I have spoken with have advised the client to just undergo and audit if they have the discs or settle if they do not as legal fees will outweigh the cost very quickly.
Do you include all those that hired attorneys and dropped them mid-process ?
This defendant had an attorney in the beginning.
Or just those that "went all the way"?

And that is exactly why the judge in Nevada called these suits what they are...nothing but a shakedown.

Lone, again the Defendant had every chance to defend themselves but failed to appear. She apparently (from reading a response of her on FB, someone, not an attorney, advised her she didn't have to go and that the judgement would be a total of $10,000 for both rigs. This is what happens when you take advice from someone with no knowledge of the law.

There is always a good possibility that THEIR LAWYER disn't show when he/she was supposed to. We know that happens, and SC has some good examples. Doesn't make it right, but if they were overly dependent on the lawyer and he/she stiffed them....... Either way, just a default- same as so many of SC's.

No, if anyone reads the court documents they will see her lawyer "was removed"(fired, quit ect) months before court and she was representing herself.
