You mean Jean Lafitte, Blackbeard, Capt Kidd, Capt Morgan (not the rum), Calico Jack, and of course Capt Hook.

:? I thought you were looking to sell your business and 6,000 discs, not buy more? Let me qualify that the discs are not exactly worthless but the original function has changed. To begin with they were a vital tool of our trade, things have changed with technology and today the discs themselves are used mainly for a different purpose. They are used to prove the legality of the music offered in the host's show. It is the gold backing up your paper money. Have a blessed day.

You realize I set this poll up as a farce, don't you?

There is nothing "scientific" about any polls here.

According to the poll, there are 6 members out of 16,000 here on this forum that are pirates.

Do you really think that 6 actual pirates voted on this poll?[/quote]

No, nope, I think you were dead serious.....you got me to own up to it.....
How many people on here are confident, that he was serious?
Please chime in........

Let me set up a new poll so we can get the "scientific" data to prove your point....

Yes, Lone I have been considering it, and I recently sold 1300 dupe cd's to some locally....but he backed out. I'm almost like the guy with the Batman comic books in the closet, that for some reason doesn't throw them out.

CD+G's are obsolete now, like it or not.

Hey, you can get VHS movies real cheap today too. You could own TONS of them! Just think of the collection you could have!

I have been laptop/computer based since 1999. What do do think I used to get those songs into a computer back then......If you guessed CD's you get a big cigar. Since I like, and my singers like older music, I will always need CD's to legitimize my music on my computer....COMPRENDE. In the end I bet I will have the music I want for less than the music you want.

And it won't be a LEASE. I am very proud of my music collection and my rig and I proudly display every aspect of my karaoke world. I don't seem to find anything (2 pics whoop-de-do) our yours....just your spouting comments.

Thanks! I like a good cigar.

Yo comprende. En mi negocios, yo tengo tiempo mucho en Latino America. Disculpe mi espanol de tourista. Muey malo.

In less than 10 years you wont even be able to buy a player for your obsolete CD+G's...except for maybe a novelty "Crosley" version at Skymall.

I am very proud of my "antique" collection too.... but then I am also the guy with wax cylinders, 78's,45's LPs and reel to reel tapes as well. The Gem series is just another media available to me and I intend to make use of it as part of expanding my "legal" systems as well.

There is nothing wrong with collecting antiquities. Just don't delude yourself into thinking that just because they are old, they are relevant or valuable. Time marches on. Many confuse sentimental value with real value.

"Hey I paid a LOT for these wax cylinders! Look at what I have to SHOW for my huge investment!"

I think CD+G media is silly. I only have if for proof of purchase, otherwise I would get rid of all of it. I only buy new release music as downloads these days. It is the older stuff I buy on disc for compliance.

And on the lighter side of things..... Bazza, allow me to take a stab at translation of your Spanish to English as I only understand "poquito Espanol”. Please correct me if I’m wrong. :)

"Yo comprende. En mi negocios, yo tengo tiempo mucho en Latino America. Disculpe mi espanol de tourista. Muey malo."

I think this is what you said. “I understand. I’m having a great time with my business here in Latin America. Forgive my tourist Spanish. My bad!”

Am I close enough?

Very close! The middle sentence is supposed to be "In my business, I spend a lot of time in Latin America".

You are kidding right? From my many posts to my signature you are really asking this question? Or is this an attempt at being facetious?

FYI: GEM discs are not CD+G's, they are data discs...a completely difference animal/standard. I am shocked you didn't know this.

Touche'!

BUT there is a major difference. An MP3+G can be delivered many ways. Memory Stick, Solid State Drive, Download, etc. As new storage technology arrives, the data can be on it. The now defunct Chartbuster delivered songs on memory cards. The GEM series could be distributed on any of the current storage mediums. MP3+G are not locked into to plastic discs.

A CD+G can only be delivered and played ONE way. On an obsolete CD+G disc using an antique CD+G player.

True, everything will be obsolete eventually. CD-A and CD+G are today.

I'm pretty sure a cdg stores the music in such a way, that you can turn it into gem form, or any form you want....plus you have more rights with a cdg......sorry for jumping in, but I couldn't hold back......

I have to agree with you my last purchase from Chartbuster was a sd card with 1200 songs on it. It sure stores a whole lot easier than my CD+G collection. After I bought it they went bankrupt less than a week later.
