Anyone interested in following the case will find the 6th district court of appeals has reversed the Karaoke Kandy store's "win" looks like that case will be seeing some new actions very soon.

As that is an ongoing action I won't comment, but the fact that that case exists must cause some folks some consternation, who claim that we don't go after pirates. This is hardly the only such case, either.

We have been following the case since the original judgement was posted, number of posters were holding it up as an example of how Sound Choice could never win a case. I would think there would be more interest in this case since it involves a reseller of pre-loaded Hd's. We do not follow all of the cases due to cost however.

I suppose it goes to show that if you hate SC, there is literally NOTHING that SC can do right.

"You never go after real pirates, the ones that are selling the hard drives."

"Actually, we do, and here are five examples."

"Not good enough! What about the thousands of others you haven't sued?"

I am very interested in following the case and thank you for posting about it Frank.

I'm so interested in this case, that I have decided to return to Karaoke Scene, thanks to the amnesty, and I thank PHiLL for that.

selling loaded drives is what is ACTUALLY hurting SC. Nail them to the wall.

I hope you aren't including me in "some folks". I state that it simply is not your priority, and never has been- and Kurt has stated the same. Doesn't mean you won't catch ANY... Just a miniscule minority of those you sue.

As for the Karaoke Kandy Store- REAL pirates- I hope they get their a$$ kicked, just like the "Cheerleaders" do.

Loaded hard drive seller? I am completely on SC's side with this one. And it isn't just ONE. One guy could be putting out 100 drives a day or whatever the number is.

8) Go ahead and chase them James to your hearts content, if your legal process was such a winning strategy wouldn't have all the other still viable manus gone the same route? PR was supposed to be going after CB pirates, what happened there? The only thing they have been doing is completing the suits started by CB, where are all their new filings? Maybe they are also keeping up appearances in order to generate sales of the Cloud service for their sister company DTE? Really what you do concerns me little since I boycott your product. Have a legal day.

Jerry, ain't that true. As for PR, who says they aren't doing anything. They may be in the planning stage or they may quietly be already out there. Neither you nor I know. PR has no obligation to tell us what they are doing or what stage they are at.

What does Mr. Harrington have to do with PR? Is he representing them as well as SC?

I only represent them in a joint lawsuit that they brought with SC. They have other counsel for other actions.

Mike D SC ONLY goes after the bars that keep illegal KJ's after being informed of how to avoid lawsuits. If the venues show indifference why shouldn't they be sued?

Or probably more often, bars that own their own equipment that don't hire out outside companies. Had a few of those here.

no, but as you can not get certified anymore, we have to just wait until they sue every CB user to do an audit. that's pretty crappy. they don't even have an address or phone number to attempt to contact them. if they are out investigating, they give no other option. but in Canada you don't have to worry about any of this anyway.

:? What other actions James? SC is still making noise thanks to your posts and Insane's, besides following up on suits started by CB before they went under, what has PR been doing? I have only met one host around here that was even approached by SC and never have seen a host locally stopped by PR for using the CB label. If the sole function of PR is to go after CB pirates why aren't they as active as you seem to be, or a least want us to believe? Have a legal day.
