We have been keeping up so far with the singer solutions untill the majors get their act together. Are there any others?
We like disks and also will not do business with (Cloud) untill they show some real serious effort to protect their product.

For me it's Zoom, then Sybersound/Party Tyme, then the generic rest of the crowd. Those named by Lon will all be workable, but All Star, Singers Solution/Fastrax/Quik Hits, and Pop Hits sound about on the same generic level to me-not bad, not good, but serviceable- and ( only personal choice) Sunfly has never been a favorite.

Admittedly, I have no real experience with Selecta-track, and since they make discs, I really should give them a try.

Selectatrack is just a combo of manus that authorize SAT to sell to custom discs & downloads, ie Zoom, Sunfly, SBI, Mr Entertainer, Abraxa, and a handful of others. This is one of my primary sources for custom discs. Cheaper than Tricerasoft over all, Tri may be cheaper per track but charge a $10 processing fee for custom discs that push it over SAT prices.

Joe, All Star is also a compilation of brands put out under their own name and unfortunately you won't know what you are getting ahead of time but they aren't so so brands. While most of the newer hits are Sunfly, I've also gotten Pocket Songs and Chartbuster/Karaoke Cloud on some of the more vintage songs. I think they are a good way to keep up with hits that may be come and goes because of the low price per track when you buy via a card deal. At 44 cents a track, at least you haven't put a bunch of money into something that people just have to sing now but disappears from interest entirely in a couple of months.

Only different label I got from All Star was the Disney tracks which I knew I was ordering. Otherwise out of the 15 custom discs I have from them so far, all have been All Star tracks (except for aforementioned Disney tracks).

Sometimes they have taken off the title screen of the original and put their own on and you just see a milli-second of the Sunfly title screen go by but the graphics will look Sunfly--especially on the duets where they use the Sunfly color system instead of the traditional pink for females, blue for boys. If you are ordering mostly current hits then you will probably mostly be getting those and not the other brands.

I am playing catch up and so on some of the older country I've ordered I've been getting CB and Karaoke Cloud Title Screens--a lot of the older country just added by All Star seems to be those. Most of the recent Billy Joels they added (not all) have Pocket Songs Title Screens. I have also been getting Latin songs that seem to be Tropical Zone. I forgot about the Disney. They leave those Title Screens on, too.

The Disney tracks I would expect them to leave the screens alone since they are acting as authorized distrubuters for them.

Singer Solutions. I thought they were really very good, & then I found out why. Someone here brought to my attention that their tracks were total ripped from Karaoke Version. I didn’t believe it until I played them together side by side (a/b switch). All the tracks were exactly the same arrangement, instrumentation & background vocals. Singer Solutions just change the graphic fonts.

I only purchased 1 disc SS-C419 burnt cd, no inner code markings, don't even think they're legit. I emailed KV about the matter but didn’t get an answer. Can somebody please prove me wrong? Too bad, SS tracks only cost approx $1.15 each, KV per track $2.49 – 2.99 depending on # of downloads.

Doesn't mean they are taking KV music. It's possbile that they are buying their music from the same recording source. KV shops several studios for their music, they don't actually make their own.
So I can totally believe that SS could in fact sound the same with different graphics. I remember hearing a Fast Trax disc that was identical to the same music I had on Sunfly/SBI.

That's exactly what I'm referring to. If a manufacturer sells their merchandise through some on line store everyone gives them the benefit doubt and buys up their songs because they just love getting new songs. If they can get them cheaply; that is even better. They don't care even a little bit whether or not they have paid for any licensing or not. That is just one of the reasons that I don't think that anyone will come after me for using the tracks that I make at home and don't distribute at all to other people for free or for money. They are for my own personal use and that is all. Singers Solution seems to have songs on their discs that aren't even on Karaoke Versions song list(ONE OF THOSE NIGHTS by TIM McGRAW FOR EXAMPLE)? Maybe Singers Solutions makes tracks for themselves and they may also sell those same backing tracks to Karaoke Version to sell?

Nah, just checked the Tim McGraw song - It's SBI  I guess Singers Solution will grab a track from either Karaoke Version or Selectatrack and burn off a few hundred compilations on CDR's. Pretty good business eh? A few bucks to download the track, spend 30 minutes to re-author and put a title screen on it so it looks different, burn it on CDR - and quietly sell them to a few trusted dealers/ebay sellers who ask no questions and get very vague if you ask who the manufacturer is!

I think I would rather buy the download even though it will cost me more, but at least I know I'm getting the song from a source that is allowed to sell it!

I think you are limiting yourself by choosing to stick with disc only manu's since the disc manufacturers are doing anything at all to protect their music either. I use Select-a-track, KaraokeVersion, Tricerasoft, and the disc manu's.
