I am looking to challenge my wife @ our next show by us singing good "cheesy" songs.
Thomspon Twins "Hold Me Now" comes to mind, a cheesy song everyone knows, but would never sing.
Songs that the crowd will know, & possibly sing along with, but songs that the crowd will say "OMG!!! I can't believe they are singing that, I know that song."

Morris Albert's "Feelings" immediately comes to mind.

Call me cheesey, but I have sung Hold Me Now and Don't You Want Me several times. Now Feelings is definitely cheesey and I have never sung it, not that I wouldn't. It's tempting. How about Reunited by Peaches and Herb? Yes cheesey, but I have sung it. Picture is cheesey. Bobby Goldsboro's Honey is the height of cheese. Don't Give Up On Us Baby by David Soul is not cheese, it is a beautiful love song (had to say that before somebody called it cheese).

Whether it’s hilarious or just plain ridiculous lyrics, everyone loves cheesy songs (double-dare & lots of liquid courage I'll sing 'em): Wham! – Wake Me Up Before You Go-Go (you put the boom boom into my heart…jitterbug into my brain) Manfred Mann - Doo Wah Diddy Diddy Dum Diddy Doo (need I say more?) NKOTB – Hangin’ Tough (singing tough, hangin’ tough, we’re rough) Billy Ray Cyrus - Achy Breaky Heart (you can tell my lips to tell my fingerstips)

However, I'm thinkin' After The Lovin' runs pretty close, unless you include tearjerkers, 'cause -Honey, by Bobby Goldsboro- can actually MAKE me cheese...., after wiping my eyes, of course...

Let's not forget "Tell Laura I Love Her", and the one where the boy meets the girl at a dance and finds out at the end of the song that she died a year earlier in a car crash. (I cant remember the title). Also "Wind Beneath My Wings" and one I really hate: "Don't Take The Girl". BIG TIME CHEESE.

The one that I sing from time to time for total cheese....
Kung Fu Fighting
I usually dedicate it to one of the girl bartenders and make up a story about how she is a master black belt in Kung Fu and should be tipped well or suffer the consequences. Always gets a laugh and people singing along. The funniest part is there are now people who really think she knows Kung Fu.

"Unbelievable" by EPMD.
"I Melt With You." Modern English.
You could always go really obscure and do "Pac Man Fever." I know that exists for karaoke, but I forget who makes it.

Cheesy songs are popular because it’s fun to listen to until you get sick of hearing it over & over Captain & Tennille – Muskrat Love (definitely pizza hut cheesetastic city) Starland Vocal Band – Afternoon Delight (gonna grab my baby, gonna grab some afternoon delight, sky rockets in flight) (was that like a little quickie in the afternoon? ) MMMBop – Hanson (fortunately, puberty took over for these dudes. They will be so embarrassed if they sing this song again) P Bryson & R Flack – Tonight, I celebrate my love (tonight we will both discover how friends turn into lovers when I make love to you) (cheesy, but I actually like that line. Friends with benefits )

I've sung Love Will Keep Us Together and Don't Go Breaking My Heart with lady singers. I guess cheese is one of my four food groups. Please pass the Velveeta.
How about If You Leave My Now by Chicago, Broken Wings by Mr Mister...? Is Broken Wings cheese?

"Muskrat Love" is a most craptastic and thoroughly worthy nominee in the cheese category. Second!
I admit to performing "Don't You Want Me" with the wife and even doing (shudder) "Mr. Vain" once many moons ago with her to this delightfully cheesy vcd that a friend had.
Anybody ever do that Haddaway song "What Is Love"? (thinking about Lonman's avatar about now and how fun it would be to see a group of guys get up and perform that with the appropriate head bobs...)
