I am very happy to see SC doing 1-1 filings btw. This is how I have thought it should be handled all along. I understand why a shotgun approach was being taken even though I never agreed with it. In retrospect, the mass filings served a purpose. The individual filings do counter the claims of the anti-SC folks that SC would never go toe-to-toe with hosts on a one to one basis.

Now we just have to hope that SC is successful with the cases and that it will send a signal to the rest of the community that done the right way, SC will be able to put a dent in the piracy issue and folks will think twice about using pirated material at shows.

Chris,
I believe strongly that history will repeat it's self once more and show that lawsuits will not make a dent in Piracy. I am not saying SC shouldn't protect themselves from hard core pirates but the only thing that has shifted to sales from piracy has been listening to what customers want and providing it to them in a path of least resistance. Law suits can be a great way to raise awareness but it will never put much of a dent in the problem. This is my opinion, of course and I mean these statements in the most constructive way possible.

Wow! Condescension and sarcasm in the same post. So unlawyerly! It's no wonder you're having some issues with the judges handling your cases.

Bruce - With the exception of the post count, Harrington posted facts with an underlying tone of sarcasm and condescension that I find duly warranted. Lone's unrelenting reminders of his disdain for SC and SC tactics are known to us all. We don't need to be constantly reminded of his viewpoint. Especially when his comments serve only to reinforce his own opinion and contribute nothing to the actual conversation. Personally I am tired of seeing his interjections derail threads with the negativity. Also, as Harrington pointed out, absolutely none of what Lone talks about impacts him at all, something which Lone himself has admitted to and which he has pointed out to us repeatedly.

8) Well if nothing else Chris I am consistent I don't say one thing one day and another the next. I don't have any reason to have to spin things, true many hosts don't like my views, but the purpose of these forums is to allow hosts and others to express their views. After all we are in the same business, and I have picked up some useful information as well as baloney on these sites. I also know all the positions of the certified hosts, and put up with Insane only interested in the legal aspect of karaoke. He never posts on any other topic that I know of. He is supposed to be a host, and yet he doesn't seem to be interested in any other aspects of the business? As far as being going over the same material all the time, I feel the certified hosts do that as much as I do. Doesn't all of James's comments just reinforce the SC position, and that of the certified hosts? Sorry if I make maybe a point now and then, and maybe get some people to maybe think this whole legal process needs to be rethought. At least I care enough to make some comment. Have a blessed day.

.....and why is it you feel you have to comment on every single case, and throw in a bunch of mumbo jumbo to sidetrack the thread when you have no first-hand knowledge of the cases?

This thread is about cases filed individually against different alleged infringers, using different attorney's in a different state. It has nothing to do with APS, Donna Boris, Las Vegas, California, or dishonest agents.

I (and I hope others) would appreciate if you would try to stick to the thread instead of trying to re-hash the exact same thing over and over and over and bury the intent of the thread. We all know you don't like what SC is doing. We don't need for you to remind us in every thread.

Chris, did you also know that Lone will be leaving the KJ business in less than two years, so none of this will really effect him?

Not to mention the fact that he doesn't use SC in his shows.

Also, he only knows of one person in his area who's been approached.

Of course, he's retired from his earlier career and doesn't have to do this, and once he's ready to retire, he'll be set.

I only bring these things up because (a) he didn't mention any of them in his last post and (b) you might have missed the previous 1,745 times he posted them.

8) And you don't repeat yourself James? I thought we didn't have a problem since I don't use your product? So which is it really we have a problem if I use it, or the problem is I don't use it and SC can't license me GEM or you can't take me to court? Yes I have only met one host approached by SC in my area, and they let him go once you couldn't get blood from a rock. Sorry that I did not spend my whole life doing karaoke, and I managed to have other careers and amass enough for my old age. You are a conservative aren't you I would think it would make you feel good, you won't need to support me. It is my choice if and when I fully retire, I would hope that you and SC at least don't want to control that. Sometimes it confuses me that you come on strong with this legal process, and then seem hurt when hosts and venues, take you seriously and just decide don't use the SC product. Have a legal day.

I don't believe I've ever made my politics known on this board or the other. I don't think that karaoke has a political component to it. There are certainly people of all political perspectives on all sides of this issue.

That being said, you've guessed wrong.

You don't take a conservative, reactionary stance when it comes to SC and it's rights? They are the only manu currently active using the legal process to try and recover money. A more reasonable approach would be to try and work some sort of compromise, but that is not going to happen, since you and SC have chosen your paths. I have chosen mine and just glad I'm closer to the finish line than you or SC will ever be. Have a great St. Patrick's Day.

They have done so in the past, sending out letters to infringers which were utterly ignored.

Doing one's job does not make one either Conservative or Liberal.

Agreed. Sometimes a chosen profession can indicate one's leanings, but I don't believe that is the case here.

I know that I can't be given a general label, because my leanings are issue based, and not political. In other words, I may think as a Liberal on one issue, and a Conservative on another.
