From what I know from past discussions about this same exact issue, they are not from Chartbuster. AFAIK CB was working on the idea of bringing out the SCDG's but then tossed it. The company who had the master tracks from CB and was supposed to produce them made those disks anyway without the permission of CB and tossed them on the market. This is what I heard/read...

So, no they're not legit.

The thread was here. I remember it as well. I believe Gretchen (if not mistaken) or someone from CB had said it a few years back.

Then why haven't the folks enforcing chart buster IP sued them to stop selling them?

Maybe they haven't got there yet. Maybe they are setting things up, maybe they are doing nothing. Whatever it is it is their business and I daresay they won't be sharing it anytime soon.

8) I own a set of the CB SCDG's purchased in 2005, anything prior to 2006 or in the original release is supposed to be kosher. The concern about the later product was that CB did not keep up on the licensing of the music, and caused the later CAVS production to not be covered. They still had the right to produce the product, but CB didn't have the right to license them to do so. Yet CB still took CAVS money. That is why CAVS sued and beat CB in court. After the award, however, CB collapsed and was taken over, and CAVS never got paid their settlement. It never ceases to amaze me how large companies can avoid paying settlements and it is ok. If a host didn't pay a manu settlement, you can bet the certified hosts would be outraged. Have a blessed day.

Luddite question:

What kind of files were on the original SCDGs?
