Sex On Fire, Someone Like You, Love Shack, Summer Nights & Don’t Stop Believing – still pretty active @ my show, the rest lost steam a long time ago. National Karaoke Week? I did not know we have our own special recognition week celebrated every fourth week of April. I’ll let my singers know this weekend. I’ll ask my boss to maybe raffle a few free drinks and/or appetizers to show appreciation to our patrons. Thanks, jd.

Well, about 10 years ago, I'd say that 10 of those 15 songs were very popular at the Karaoke shows I attended. Nowadays, I'd say 3 of those songs have kept their popularity amongst the troops, and those would be: Love Shack Summer Nights Born in the USA

Ten of the fifteen have never been sung at either of my venues, and the remainder have only appeared infrequently.

Most of those aren't sung at mine either, 5 (the ones mentioned in Brians) are done fairly regular.

All are sung on a regular basis at all of our shows except Billie Jean.

"Santeria" is the National Anthem around here--well, tied with "Simple Man." But of the list, Torn and Sex On Fire have been done here and there with Someone Like You, Baby Got Back, Creep, Love Shack, I Love Rock And Roll, Black Velvet and Summer Nights done regularly. I've only had "Don't Stop Believing" done maybe two times in several years.

In my area, only Summer Nights gets sung fairly regularly. Heard a couple of the others maybe once or twice, most I don't recall anyone doing.

Billie Jean (I do the Alien Ant Farm version on rare occasion, never heard anyone do the MJ version ever) Say It Isn't So (never heard it at any karaoke show) Torn (only heard it twice ever that I can recall, once was someone who had a friend do the Sign Language version a la "Karaoke for the Deaf")

Is Born in the USA even the most karaokied Springsteen song? And how did My Way not make the list? Sorry, I think they drew a few of those out of a 10 gallon hat.

jdmeister wrote: Lonman Shows that cater to the Filipino crowd will sing those. Re: My way. I beg to differ, jd. My Way by Frank no longer as popular in the Filipino karaoke community as you might think. Matter of fact hardly any Filipino will sing that song due to a number of disputes that arose as a result. It just got so boring being sung so frequently they'd rather not sing it so as not to invite trouble such as verbal insults, even physical bodily harm. Yes, I’m speaking from experience, not that I’ve been in that position but just from my observation. Sorry for the brief interruption, back to our regular programming, folks Thanks.
