We don't need threats of any kind on this board. Anyone making them will be warned once and then will be banned.

just to let you know i'm disabled and do this as a hobby since 2001 or 2002.
I'm on a border town of washington & idaho state (lewiston, id & clarkston, wa)
the only reason i made my comment is because the piracy is just way out of control.
and us legit kj's that have purchased music over the years are still getting screwed by the manu's by forcing us to pay for an audit or get sued. i'm in a small area population between both towns is less then 60,000.
and it's hard to find a karaoke gig to make decent regular money..... just because of the piracy! the average host here only gets like $65 a night. yeah it really sucks.
i can't afford to pull money out of my (@$%!) for an audit and keep buying new music.
i think if you have been faithful and legal, you should be praised and not charged for an audit. but no they are just going into an area and naming you on a suit if you play music branded with manu's logo's.
in the early years someone turned me in for manufacturing disc's because i used backup copies of all my disc's, ascap came to the house and checked out all of my originals to verify my backups were legal.... they asked to see my manufacturing area which was upstairs and was my pc for doing labels and my cd duplicator for making my backups, no fines or penalties, and they left me alone after that. why can't the manu's do that instead of naming you in a lawsuit then going through everything that comes with the lawsuit, (bad name for being a pirate when you really not.)
it just comes down to be "guilty till I prove myself innocent!"
it just puts a bad taste in my mouth and makes me not want to purchase from those manu's anymore but what can you do their the only one's producing karaoke at lease 2 of the 3 doing the sueing.

We should not threaten on this board. It is not conducive to intelligent discussion. Yeah, Wall does this often. He thinks he's scary. On the other hand, I've been through two IRS audits. It's an annoying, time wasting PITA. However, the fact is that if you keep good ORGANIZED records it's fairly painless. It's the folks that have to dig through shoeboxes for reciepts and stuff that have the toughest time.

I do this to discredit cowards who hide behind these forums anonymously and continue to criticize without accountability. Well, it doesn't work and all it does is make you look like an @$$. And as others here pointed out, it appears threatening to others. Not cool.

Let's take the Audit and court arguments elsewhere (Sorry cue but I had to respond. Back on topic now) I had notified every venue that hosted karaoke in my area over a year ago as well as talked about it with all my singers. Many singers didn't want to hear it & still don't. I need to do another mailing of info to venues. But I agree, not everyone is aware of the piracy issue. Does that mean that Insane KJ is discredited since he hasn't disclosed where he plays or who he works for? Does that mean all of his posts should be disregarded?

Did you really just dredge up a thread that hasn't been posted on in approximately two years to make a slam against someone you've argued with on these boards?

Sorry, but I'm going to have to side with Lone on this one. Pointing out WOS's blatant hypocrisy is simply downright entertaining! Thanks, Lone! I needed a good chuckle tonight. Your timing was perfect!

Your timing was perfect! And I'm going to have to disagree. Apparently, this WOS person hasn't posted since 2011. Lone's comments are directed to another poster entirely.
