YES Tricerasoft has used credits as long as I have been aware of them.
This is just a SelectKaraoke skin on Tricerasoft. Kinda sneaky(IMHO) but since they did change the name the clues were there. Bradsinger was able to put the pieces together very quickly and concisely...he should be commended.

Though not the point, which was addressed earlier, of my question, which was also addressed...it would be nice to hear a relative confirmation of its legal use, which I think is the biggest concern for you all...

Sneaky and boneheaded no? I mean, here you have a company that is supposedly an industry leader in their country. They get caught by somebody (PRS or Publishers or both) and they take action and block US users. Then in a matter of days they make a deal with Tricerasoft? And the new site is coincidentally the same color scheme as Selectatrack and has a similar name? Really?

It is the same "song and dance" that businesses have done, day in and day out, since the beginning of the Industrial Revolution. Businesses do not set out to perform their activity TO obey the laws and rules; they perform WITHIN them (often with contempt) and AROUND them (when available), and often AGAINST them (whenever they feel they are right or feel they can get away with it)...

Direct quote! You understand that the tracks are licensed and intended *ONLY* for HOME use. Kind of contradicts what they've been claiming in the past that all of their stuff is doubly licensed for kj use. Lonnie, I can't seem to find that. For Downloads, I did find what earthling just quoted: It was on the custom disc side during checkout.

Yep even look at the copyrights on the bottom - both Digitop & Tricerasoft copyrights. Also any project that one may have had started - I had 2 going, are gone.

Well, since I didn't create an order, I couldn't find that. You would think that would have been stated at the beginning (before you even start to select tracks for a custom disc, and well before you get to the checkout process).

Yes Cueball you would think they would make it easy to find, but that is not what these companies have been doing. They have hidden the info that we as KJ's need to see to protect ourselves and/or out and out lied or placed conflicting info on different places on the sites. That's why I have strongly advised every KJ to dig deeper into the licencing issues.

To everyone having difficulty with Select-a-track, have you been on http://SingSunfly.com? Are you experiencing similar problems there?

I said SingSunfly, not Sunfly (although it would stand to reason but that's speculation) the SingSunfly page is copyrighted by Digitop! Look at the bottom of the page. HI guys - from a Brit! Everyone over here is just as confused - is Digitop trying to pull the wool over everyone's eyes? Digitop runs selectatrack & singsunfly. They also make the Mr Entertainer range (which is really SBI tracks re-synced) oh yeah... Sunfly tracks are also SBI tracks re-synced! Digitop seem to be pulling tracks from one direction, and slipping them under the net another way - just not cricket as they say! I can't see the point of so many manufacturers on one site, all with the same backing tracks, just different graphics! just play some of the samples - they are all in sync with each other..... crazy! A bit of google work show that Digitop Ltd T/A Selectatrack has the same contact details these guys http://www.sessionmusic.co.uk/contact.aspxIt's all very confusing!

OK, so we have Select-a-track forwarding traffic to SelectKaraoke who is really Tricerasoft with a "skin" to look like Select-A-Track(days after Select-A-Track blocks US customers)
AND
Digitop who is Sunfly/Mr Entertainer/SBI/Abraxaplaying the "shell game".....shifting sites and sharing the same backing tracks.
AND
all this happens less than a month after the Karaoke Summit where one of the most driven and emotional speeches was on the inequality of karaoke licences.
HMMMM yeah I'd say we are in for a long bumpy ride....tighten your seat belt and keep your hands inside the car at all times. The dragons are flying

I still say that the inequity of Karaoke licensing is something WE and the Karaoke companies should be fighting to change!! But there are those who just turn their heads and say "meh, there's nothing we can do about it". Nobody had tried. Instead all most of you care about is the damned pirates. We should be able to buy karaoke songs from where ever we can find them, and from whomever we chose to buy them from. That would help the fight against piracy more than hurt it. If people are cut off from the UK brands, what do you think many of them will do?? Do you think the pirate community is just going to throw up their hands and walk away?? No, they are going to steal UK stuff like it's going out of style. But you people just go ahead and keep talking about pirates. Personally, I think there are MUCH bigger fish to fry.

And hello to you, fellow Brit! chris1960james wrote: I can't see the point of so many manufacturers on one site, all with the same backing tracks, just different graphics! just play some of the samples - they are all in sync with each other..... crazy! I'm actually grateful for this. I am quite choosey over my graphics. As long as I like the backing track I can go with whichever brand I like the looks of best. EG.. I am generally very pleased with Mr. Entertainer tracks but I abhor their duets - it's done the same way Karaoke-Version do, splitting the page for each vocal part, and often having two half-pages of duplicate lyrics being painted at exactly the same time. SBI et al would have one set of lyrics in a different colour for this, which I find much easier to read. Page refresh style is another factor, and often why I avoid Sunfly page-by-page refresh in favour of one of the other brands (SBI, ME etc) that refresh line by line. Where I do agree with you on this point is SBI's utterly pointless twin Abraxa. It's the exact duplicate of SBI but with a slightly different colour scheme. Both "brands" appear simultaneously with the exact same songs at the same time. Why??? chris1960james wrote: Digitop seem to be pulling tracks from one direction Good riddance. I HATE One Direction.
