Didn't even know KISS had a new album. Haven't really listened to them since they put the makeup back on. They were a better band musically without the makeup.

The same can be said about the industry as a whole. I would love to see an 80's style resurgence of rock and roll.

-Chris There are modern '50s style R&R artists out there, but their songs generally don't make it to karaoke. Si Cranstoun and JD McPherson to name but two. SBI have made Cranstoun's "Coupe de ville" but that's all. Although artists such as Caro Emerald and Imelda May have had more success on the karaoke front. Plus, Karaoke-Version and Zoom have done The Baseballs proud.

The sad thing is that no matter how good the bands are that a few of you have mentioned, if KISS-FM doesn't play them, there is no way in hell they will make it to karaoke. -Chris

The only decent song I've heard them play this year is Get Lucky.

As much as I love the, KISS wouldn't be one of the bands I keep up with as a dj - they are more a novelty band IMO. They aren't your typical 'dj' music these days. If they started getting serious airplay and requests, then I would take a look at that but wouldn't hold breath.

I find it really sad that when a classic rock band makes new music there is no place in radio for their stuff to be played. Radio has gotten so formatted it's nothing but garbage. I haven't listened to radio in a LONG time. I would rather just use my iPod.
