Any 4 gig RAM machine will do that without batting an eye. A 3 gig Windows XP machine should work fine as well. A 2 gig Windows 7 machine should really have no issue with it so long as you have a 7200 RPM SATA drive with a decent buffer or a quality Flash Drive.

I know that it will do it. My Karaoke machine is an Acer aspire One netbook with an AMD C60 dual core, and 4gigs DDR3, running Win 7.

My other machine is a 17.5 inch Toshiba Satellite with a dual core celeron with 3 gigs DDR2. It was a Vista machine but I upgraded to Win 8. That helped it, a lot.

I am just used to running two machines. I crossfade between the two when I am running DJ music.

Virtual DJ - for filler music

Karma doesn't do filler music?

Karma does a fabulous job with filler music. If you load it first (on top of of singers) and have the filler songs set for auto-play, the filler will play immediately after a singers song finishes. You can also set the volume level lower so you can easily talk over the filler to make announcements. There is ZERO need for a 2nd player for filler. I have made the suggestion to Bob to be able to hide the filler from view with a toggle command.

Just as I wrote.......you load a list of songs ahead of the singers in que (cue) and when a singer's song ends, it will automatically play the top song in the filler song list, then when you hit the NS (next singer) button that filler song is done. Then the next filler song in the list will play after that singer. There is no need for a separate filler player. It works GREAT!

Karma is hands down the best option for a karaoke show. I've used it since the early version, I also use it to DJ because of its ease of use and being able to reverse the skin for an outdoor event like a pool party.

I think it works great for DJ work too! As long as you aren't into beat matching or scratching.

Yes, it does, but I was a dj before I got into karaoke and I "prefer" using Virtual DJ for my filler music because I have way more control. My Thursday night gig is advertised as a "karaoke/dance" party and we do take dance breaks every hour. I also beatmix with a passion.

A friend of mine, who is also a kj, uses two machines as well. One for karaoke and one for filler music.

Another friend of mine, a dj who is now trying to get into karaoke, has also decided to use two machines. One for filler and one for karaoke.

Hey, my motto is and has always been, "whatever works for you is what you should do."

For me it just makes life easier.
