Nope. And I can't see myself doing so, even though I don't know much about it.

They are just starting out - I think.

There's a million "Lead Referral" sites out there for DJs & Karaoke. Trying to become a real player in a field of so many already established sites out there will be a formidable task for them - if that's what they are trying to do.

The profits in commercial karaoke service are dwindling, and I project that it will only get worse in the coming years. (Not saying karaoke itself is going anywhere - just the money). I am not looking to expand karaoke, so that's another reason I am not inclined to join.

PLUS - what is this? Another ghost organization operated by the powers that be in an attempt to scare pirates?

Listen to me.... I said "operated". ha ha - like anyone has operated anything on the KIAA website in the last 5 years.

"The world karaoke industry comes to The Las Vegas DJ Show to hold the second world Karaoke summit live. Karaoke Hosts from around the world will join together to build a vibrant karaoke industry ."

When was the FIRST world karaoke summit?

...To the best of my knowledge, the first summit was also in Nashville (2012):

http://karaokescene.com/wn/2012/press-r ... mmit-2012/

...Each time, I was only able to watch around 1/2 of the Live Steam but found them interesting.

I think they are using "summit" interchangeably between their private summits they have held in Tennessee and the public "summit" they are going to hold at the DJ convention.

I changed my mind about going to the DJ convention so I won't be there. I would love to know how the turn out is for this little shindig.

After going to the site and looking around it appears that this might be part of the ADJA. I am basing this off a few things that I saw on the site. The first is when I did a host search for my area it said we know DJs. Next was the logo and then the mention of Hugo Draxx as being the host for the summit.

If this is part of the American DJ Association it will be very different then what you are thinking and might actually be a good deal for the serious Karaoke Host! Stop by the ADJA web site and look at the benefits that they offer their members.

This is an ADJA spinoff. It was mentioned briefly at the DJ Convention earlier this year and I believe they made mention of it during the karaoke summit as well.

My primary piece of feedback for them is to avoid posting DJ related items to the KJ piece. They have a very well established DJ site with great information. Keep the karaoke separate and let people choose on their own to go get the DJ info. Don't create a Karaoke site that is going to have DJ mixed in. If that is what they want then just mix the karaoke into the existing DJ site.

That is an offshoot of Dr. Drax and the D.J. association--He helped M.C. the karaoke summit recently.
Maybe he will do some good maybe not.The D.J. industry has an even bigger problem with pirate music.I wonder if he has had success with that area.
