Gemini wireless

Two words that shouldn't go together

Different strokes for different folks... My singers prefer the Gemini to the Shure SM58 wireless, and as long as they're happy - I'm happy.

Bazza thanks for the tip, I appreciate it.. I'll definitely check out the rechargeables. but I got to say this much...

From what I read there are two primary factors that effect feedback -- the distance between the singers mouth and the microphone AND the distance between the microphone and the speaker. With a corded mic you have some degree of control over the second factor due to the cord acting as a leash. Without it, you have no control over factor #2. Randomly change factor #2 and your sound levels and setup may or may not work.

Also, there are such things as nodes in the room which also has impact.

It's the first I've heard of this... In what way does this affect, or cause feedback?

It can cause something if the singer swallows it :nana: :nana: :nana: :nana:

Because you may try to compensate by turning the mic up, the music down and the mains up (or a combo of all) to compensate which will bring the mic volume up to the point of feedback when it normally wouldn't be with them holding the mic properly to hear them in the first place.

OK... that makes sense.
