I haven't seen even ONE single Sunfly track that I just had to have in years. They don't seem to be interested in making any Country music and the rest of their stuff doesn't interest me in the least. I have some of their older stuff though as well as a bunch of Legends discs that I've been singing from for years.

The Lone Ranger wrote: 8) Sunfly is a UK label and as such is not currently licensed for commercial use in this country, if that is not correct someone please say something. You can still purchase discs and downloads for home use I think. The PR licensing that follows UK products is not recognized in this country or Canada, you should be good anywhere else in the world. If you purchased your Sunfly product before the restrictions were put in place and have proof you should be good to use the product commercially at least that's the way I understand the situation. If this is not right then again someone correct me. Since Sunfly is currently barred from the commercial karaoke market in the U.S. I don't think they will be using the legal process methods of either SC or PR. Some errors here. NO karaoke producer's productions of publisher's music is is actually LICENSED FOR COMMERCIAL use in the U.S., but most publishers/owners just don't care ( however, SC is working hard to screw that up)- we hosts exist on their sufferance. This means that UK producers are no LESS licensed for commerial use. Now if you are talking about the new ban on imports, that is only in regard to import for distribution. We can still buy "onesies" for our own use without any problem. My last buy was 2 weeks ago- 6 different discs from Zoom. Absolutely no issues. However, if one wishes to by more than one copy of the same disc, the problems will occur. Of course, me being me, I'm referring to discs. Downloads? Not going there- let those who use them debate- I'm done with that issue. As for the UK folks "jumping in" to SC's cesspool- different licensing agency for the UK, number one- and no interest, number two.

It is as simple as going to eBay, Amazon, or number of other online retailers. They simply can't sell direct. Please tell me that when you retire from hosting you also will retire from posting. -Chris Excuse me you are the one who used the word "circuitous" as far as the routing of the product from the seller to the buyer. That implies that the transaction is not direct in nature, and would require a bit of effort to accomplish. You are therefore "devising a way" to get it into the country. If you cannot accomplish the transaction directly then it would be accomplished in some indirect fashion. I don't import product since I have found more than enough here for my needs.

I am in Brazil on business as I type. (Not a lot of Karaoke BTW). My wife loves a particular Brazilian brand of perfume that is not licensed, sold or otherwise available in the US. I plan on buying some and bringing it to her. I have to buy it, protect it and carry it through immigration and customs after a 10 hour flight. "Non Direct Transaction?" "Circuitous?" Yup. And also perfectly legal and unquestioned through US customs. I have no fear that her use of this product in the US will not result in legal action.

It might be legal Bazza it doesn't change the fact that you couldn't buy it directly you have to come up with aka devise a way to get the product inside the country.

I have been involved with karaoke for almost 21 yrs. and I have seen companies come and go. If I had to choose an alternative, I would choose Zoom Karaoke. There MP4's are excellent and they have some of the hard to find Beatles songs such as "Sgt. Pepper/With A Little Help From My Friends" full version, not split up like most versions, even Sound Choice.

Just to let you know SBI is pretty good with country and rock. Zoom is great for pop, and lately rock.

Bruce, that is because SF is a British company that caters mostly to Great Britain and Europe, where country music is not that popular.

BTW- anyone else noticing their feet vibrating? OK, goofing around aside and regarding the OP: Whatever you decide, make sure that you buy Sunfly product produced AFTER they took over the Legends label. Anything prior to that made Backstage look like gold- freakin' awful.

Today, SBI makes (or they get the same music that supplies SBI) their music.
