I believe it is you that thinks your way is the only way. I have picked up a lot of different things I like *and their singers like* from different hosts over the years and I use them for my show. I tweak things based on feedback and what I see other hosts doing. You really do not know what you are talking about.

You strike me as the nerdy kid who got bullied all of the time while growing up and now tries too hard to be one of the cool kids by trying to be a wannabe bad-a$$ by using bad language at a what is mostly a G-rated hobby for 99.9% of the people who enjoy it. You're like the 12 year old who thinks he's a tough guy because he smokes. Keep dreaming.

Again. You are making this about me in spite of me repeatedly telling you that it is about my singers. You don't listen. You just ignore and live in your world.

Internet Forums and bulletin boards are basically places for people to voice different opinions. That being said, people are going to argue about what is the right way or wrong way to do things. If people weren't disagreeing with each other, the internet would just be full of comments like, "me too" or "Amen Brother". I know that is the Sound Choice Cheerleader's dream world but it will never be that way. The Cheerleaders are in the great minority of hosts in today's karaoke world so they spend their time whining about how unfair it all is.

Well, I think it's unfair for me to have sit through "Me So Horny" & "Closer" while having a nice night out with my daughter.

You want to "kill" the KJ with songs he downloaded for free because he is in competition with you, but you want to defend some a$$hole's right to be vulgar over a PA System in a bar or restaurant under the guise of fighting for freedom of speech, when all you are really fighting for is someone's right to be vulgar in a place where it doesn't really belong. You do this because you enjoy vulgarity where it doesn't belong. You enjoy crossing the line and you enjoy it when others do it as well. In your own sad way, you revel in your juvenile rebel actions.

Look at Me Look at Me. I know how to curse.

Now I will try to explain the difference between a typographical error and someone's ignorance. If someone means to use the word HEAR and he spells it HERE; it's not a typo. If he winds up spelling it HEAT; it might very well be a typo and the guy just has bad aim when he types. When someone uses THEIR when they are trying to convey THEY'RE or THERE or uses the word TOO when they should use TWO; they just didn't pay attention in school.

I'll live with my typos. You can live with your profanity laden song choices because you think that they make you part of the cool bad a$$ crowd.

Many people use TO for TOO, too....

Saw one time when someone used "TUTU" for "TO TOO"...surely it was a voice text!

Be careful if u DO use voice text for this scenario. The sentence "I need two tutus" could come up "I need toot toot too" or, even worse, "I need to toot, too"...

Who is to say it "doesn't belong," though? Different venues are different creatures. As per my earlier example: one of the regular bars I go to, doing profanity-laden music would certainly be a transgression. At the other bar, it's almost expected, even encouraged.

Well, It is HIS lawn.

I have posted about an actual instance where someone thought it would be just dandy to sing a vulgar song at a karaoke venue. When a number of people left that venue because of it; the KJ was fired for letting it happen and the person who sang it was banned from the bar. I guess the hotel management didn't think it belonged at their location.

Some people look for locations just like that one to exercise their rights of free speech. That person's freedom cost someone else their job and ruined quite a few people's evening. Are those the rights we're really fighting for? The right to make others uncomfortable in a public place? What a shame!

And this is why I have a conversation with the owners about what they will allow and what they won't. So far, they have all been very reasonable.

Bruce..... You seem to think that just because I allow it and defend it, that I also promote it and encourage it. Not true. I just don't say anything or print anything that says you can't sing bad words.

However, I must confess, that I do not filter curse words in the artists/titles of my song books. "(@$%&#!) Control" is spelled out. I don't see the point of putting a bunch of *** in place of letters when people see it and say the word in their heads. There is no difference and it doesn't protect anyone from anything.

You also imply that people sing songs with evil, vile words that would straighten the hairs of your grandmas........armpits........every night and every song at my show. Also not true. We may go weeks with nary a bad word being sung. We may have a night where there is a bunch of it. You just never know. kinda like when someone kills the mood with a Bruce Springsteen song. It happens.

Of course not. That isn't "freedom of speech." Most folks crying about "freedom of speech" have no idea about the 1st Amendment, the case law surrounding it, or what it actually entails.
