For the purposes of the free audit offer, I am establishing a poll to see where a new break point could be set that allows more people to take advantage of the offer and also allow Sound Choice to perform audits in a timely fashion.

I counted recently to update Safe Harbor and think it was in the 80s out of 590 discs total. I wish it was more but when we started it was a fluke that Foundation II was off the market for a bit and then later I got into financial difficulty with a broken leg and the day job disappearing so just never could buy it. But in the meantime I found I was very happy to buy customs so I filled requests with one custom instead of buying 15 separate discs (or even a brick) to do that. That cut down on the disc numbers a bit and it also gave me more of a mindset of buying for individual songs rather than bulk or discs--and I'm still a disc show. I want SC to come back but fear if they are tied to bulk sales then they may still falter behind the instant gratification companies. A Gem would be a superior way for someone just starting out but not sure I could add lots of songs at one time until my economic situation picks up.

when i first started out, and my parents where helping me out with buying my initial sets of music, I had the choice of buying the cb essentials 1-6 or the foundations and bricks. Both were almost the same amount of money, so I of course opted for the option that gave me more music.
so I have tried to buy all the songs that are only available on soundchoice, and the versions I prefer on soundchoice by custom disc.
Unfortunately for me, the site closed down before I could afford to buy all the songs that I wanted.
so to answer the original poll above I have 59 discs. 20 of which are customs.

As far as SC deciding to limit who can buy any new releases....makes little or no difference...there is a far greater selection of up to date music out there on other labels. So it becomes a moot point and I therefore have utterly no interest in trying to buy a new SC release. Shooting themselves in the foot from a marketing standpoint.
As to SC discs I own....less than 25.

And as far as being AUDITED goes, last time Kurt Slep was in Portland, Ore, my collection (500+ discs, I am disc only) was personally audited by both Kurt and his Oregon investigator. They found about 10 discs that turned out to be counterfiet, which I donated to them for them to use as training examples. I also had the Oregon Investigator come to the bar I KJ'ed at and do an audit for the bar's assortment (total=less than 10 SC discs, disc based only) and they were all ok. I'm STILL waiting to receive the promised written letters from SC certifying both my assortment and the bar's assortment as legal, legit and good to go!! This was well over 1.5 years ago. I'd also like them to list both myself and the bar on the SC website legal KJ and venue section.

It was the labelling of them.

Cue made me curious enough to do an actual count due to a post on another thread.
In totality I have Smooth beat by one at 39, but even some of those are not in general use, like foreign language discs ( SC8193 - Greek for example, etc...)or TV themes (SC8438, 2029,8435, etc for example) or a holiday discs ( SC0704 or SC8550, for example...) and are kept in a small novelty binder for private events along with other nfrs. novelty discs, such as Top Tunes Xmas and Irish music, some questionable lyric discs, etc... They are listed in novelty song pamphlets that I stick in the pack pocket of the regular binders..
Therefore, I would guess that I carry less than 30 when working venues. Of them, maybe 80% are Star or Power Pick series, meaning that those discs only have 8 tracks per. Less songs, but a better useable percentage per disc at a less expensive price.

They are listed in novelty song pamphlets that I stick in the pack pocket of the regular binders.. And I have used my TV themes disc when I have had no singers to start off a show. I would put my show on autopilot by placing that disc in the machine and letting it play through. Eventually, some of the customers would recognize the old TV theme song, and start singing along at their seats. I would then sneak up on them and hold the cordless mic by them (for them to willing accept and continue to sing). Then the person would decide to get up and sing a real song.

How many? 1,123 + 9 customs from scau - - total sc count: 1,132, but 20 % power picks (8 songs). Another equal amount - cb, dk, mm, phm, zm, etc, How did I accumulate so much cd's? 20+ years of building quality business.

I've got 148 SC discs. Not enough for the free audit unless I buy some more.

Agreed. Contact Sound Choice. The response level has been low enough that they might let you slide on the 2 discs and perform the audit anyway.

lots of work to do to prepair for the audit, my labeling was wrong on disc's they want actual disc numbers that listed on disc, I was listed to the kjpro equivalent. and name the same way.
just got done re-labeling the acutual file names to match, now I'm rebuilding my disc list with correct numbers, and dumping my karaoke book to an excel format for some dumb reason.... .pdf format would have been easier for me.
anyways, only had to fix like 80 out of my 260 disc's numbers.
but i'm now ready to submit paperwork to sounchoice and get my audit setup.

You know what's fun? Out of the 21 people that answered so far, the MAJORITY have less than 50 SC discs. Geez, I keep getting told that they are indispensable! Que Pasa?
